Forcing Baptism on Anyone is Not God's Way

A Catholic priest by the name of Rev. Fr. Stephen “Steve” Shott O.S.F.S. tweeted in response to questions and criticisms of his faith as follows:

Poor Stephen Shott. He doesn’t know his Bible. This is where we can see the benefit and the importance of reading the Bible!

In Matthew 28:19-20, there is no such thing as “baptize all nations”! The commandment is “teach all nations!”

MATTHEW 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

It is absolutely impractical to be able to baptize a nation. A preacher of God can preach into an entire nation but never in the history of humanity, more so in Christianity, that a whole nation was baptized! It is because of acceptance of teachings that is a pre-requisite.

The Lord Jesus Christ, the most sensible preacher of all times, taught the nation of Israel His teachings but was not successful in making His entire nation accept His teachings and therefore be baptized.

Truth and reality qualify and quantify the intended meaning of a statement. The commandment “teach all nations, baptizing them” does not mean that all nations or an entire nation be baptized. The commission to teach, yes, and baptism is to follow. But there is a qualifying and quantifying truth to the intended meaning of the speaker.

The Lord Jesus Christ very well knew that not all nations and not all people of each nation would accept His teachings. So with the baptism He commanded to the apostles to be carried out. The Apostles and the disciples understood what the Lord Jesus Christ meant when He said, “baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” They will baptize only those who believed in His teachings! Here’s a story about a eunuch who merited baptism.

THE ACTS 8:36-38
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Had the eunuch answered in the negative, the possibility - one hundred percent - is that Philip will not baptize him. That fact qualifies and quantifies the intended sense of the commandment!

Why are we sure biblically and logically that the baptism commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ will not be bestowed upon anyone who does not believe? Baptism signifies submission of the seeker to God’s power by his faith.

HEBREWS 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Why will a true preacher of God baptize a person if doing such will not please the God who sent him? Clearly, the qualifier is “faith,” the quantifier is “faith,” and the distinguisher of the age of anybody in a nation that is qualified for baptism is “faith.” A baby or an infant cannot have faith.

HEBREWS 5:13
For every one that useth milk is unskillfull in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Faith comes from hearing.

THE ROMANS 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Babies and infants have no capacity to believe or to have faith. In contrast, a grown up or a hundred-year-old man has the capacity to understand and so can believe. However, if he has no faith, he must not be baptized!

Being an adult and having the capacity to understand and to receive the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ is not enough gauge to receive baptism. He must receive them in faith in order to be baptized.

THE ROMANS 14:23
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

If in eating a person that eats without faith is damned, will not somebody being baptized without faith being fully aware of what he is doing be damned? The answer is clear: “For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

What then is the age essence or limit in Matthew 28:19-20? The age of reasons where a man can, by his own free will, accept the teachings and baptism commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ!

It does not stop there, however. Baptism is just the beginning of the journey of a true Christian.

What follows after baptism? “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” After baptism follows the teaching "to observe"! A baby or an infant, even long after baptism, has not the capacity to observe or obey the laws of the Lord Jesus Christ. But what did the poor Catholic priest say?

Let’s look into more exchanges in Twitter.

It is true that teaching starts from childhood but not from “babyhood” and “infanthood.” Timothy was instructed in the Holy Scriptures from “childhood.”

II TIMOTHY 3:15 (RSV)
and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

The mention of the term, “from childhood” can be understood from the fact that from the grandmother to the mother and to Timothy, faith dwelt.

II TIMOTHY 1:5
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Since childhood, Timothy was being instructed by his mother and his grandmother. But one thing is sure: he was not baptized in “babyhood” or “infanthood”! He was baptized only when of age - as a reasoning adult.

This glaring truth is something that Catholic authorities cannot perceive! The mystery of the Kingdom of God is not given to just anyone! Therefore, things ring as parables in the ears of “the blind.”

MARK 4:11-12
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Light illuminates. But light blinds others!

JOHN 9:39
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

Glaring light to an unbelieving person may cause blindness. But to a believer, light illuminates the eyes to see and the mind to understand.

THE ACTS 26:18
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

When Stephen Shott was asked if Christ instituted infant baptism, his answer was Yes, He did, and more. There was no discrimination. It was free for all. Christ instituted baptism for infant, child, teen, adult. Age was no barrier according to this priest.

How can a child be the same as an adult, to say the least that “infant baptism” is the same with “adult baptism”? How stupid! More than not discriminating with age, his understanding also of baptism is that all nations are to be baptized.

I pity this priest and those who will believe in him! In his futile defense of his erroneous faith, he resorts to adding his own thoughts in the Bible! This is the spirit that dictated the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church to institute what they call “holy inquisition.”

They killed and annihilated everyone who would not accept their baptism and their teachings because they have in mind the wrong interpretation of what the Lord Jesus Christ said and changed it to “baptize all nations”!

During the height of the power of the Roman Catholic Church, if people did not accept baptism, they were poisoned, beheaded, burned at stake, and fed to beasts!

What was the Inquisition?

For several centuries Catholic Church lorded it over in Inquisitions. When was this?

But here’s an excerpt from a Catholic Apologist, Thomas Madden in CatholicityDotCom (October 3, 2003) trying his best to cosmeticize the Inquisition that was part of Catholic history. In “The Truth About the Inquisition,” he wrote that Conversos were admittedly those forced into baptism. (Take note of the streaks of idolatry that were introduced to them as in calling Mary, the mother of God).

Spanish rabbis after 1391 had considered conversos to be Jews, since they had been forced into baptism. Yet by 1414, rabbis repeatedly stressed that conversos were indeed true Christians, since they had voluntarily left Judaism. By the mid-15th century, a whole new converso culture was flowering in Spain – Jewish in ethnicity and culture, but Catholic in religion.

Conversos, whether new converts themselves or the descendants of converts, took enormous pride in that culture. Some even asserted that they were better than the "Old Christians," since as Jews they were related by blood to Christ Himself. When the converso bishop of Burgos, Alonso de Cartagena, prayed the Hail Mary, he would say with pride, "Holy Mary, Mother of God and my blood relative, pray for us sinners…"

Several hundred years later, a pope would be asking for forgiveness for what happened during the Inquisition. This is from The Foreign Post, March 16-22, 2000 Vol. 8 No.370 and is titled, “Please Forgive Us.”

Luckily, in the Philippines, those who did not accept the baptism in Limasawa fought with swords and killed the Roman Catholic colonizer, Ferdinand Magellan.

The death of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, was initiated by Catholics because of the attacks and criticisms written by our hero against the abuses of the Catholic Church in my country of origin, through his books, “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo.”

One of Rizal’s famous quotes goes –

“Our liberty will not be secured at the sword's point... We must secure it by making ourselves worthy of it. And when the people reaches that height, God will provide a weapon, the idols will be shattered, tyranny will crumble like a house of cards, and liberty will shine out like the first dawn.”

The death of Rizal is obviously religious persecution from abusive and greedy Catholic friars. Their mission: “to baptize the entire Philippine nation” because of their wrong interpretation of Matthew 28:19-20! To assure their power, even a child must be baptized contrary to biblical Christianity.

Definitely, there’s no more inquisition these days but the Catholic Church’s forcible baptism has changed configuration: It is focusing on the innocent and helpless – the infants.

There is wisdom in God’s words. Baptism requires understanding and acceptance of the teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Therefore, age is important – and more than that is the acceptance of baptism itself. Then and only then will a person be baptized. Baptism, in any case, should not be forced on anyone. Neither should any religion be.

A whole nation is not expected to accept truth and one cannot force it by any means, least of all through inquisitions like those of the past. Otherwise, through enforcing, you violate the will of the person and resort to violence or to killing him – physically as well as spiritually. This veritably is not God’s way.

More to come. May God bless you.

No wonder why they awarded you as 'Outstanding Global Evangelist'!
You bring 'pride to the nation.

  3. Just to be enlightened of the difference between "teach" and "baptize," people need Bro Eli so as not to be misled by self-proclaimed preachers like Steve Shott. Baptism is one thing to be received by someone who's able to understand the doctrines and that denotes age consideration. Infants are heirs of God's kingdom even without being baptized.

  4. Truly, Infant baptism is different from adult baptism. Thanks be to God Mr. Controversy for this informative blog. I always excited about your blogs. More to come, if God will.

  7. Baptism should not be forced by anyone neither any religion. It was really shameful that RCC baptized infants and I was also a victim. It's really against the doctrine of Christ!

  8. DELICATE.

Being a preacher of God is such a sensitive task. You have to be careful of what you are teaching to the congregation. When you are mislead, all in the flock will end on a pit of eternal fire.

It is not a prerequisite that one is schooled in prestigious educational institution or in high-standard universities. Apostle Peter was just a fisherman yet his Biblical know-how is superb! It's because he's one of the chosen men of God to preach the true Gospel.

NOW. We have Bro. Eli Soriano, despite many malign his being, stands out exposing false preachers. One of this is Mr. Shott - an ignorant of the Biblical wisdom. Mr. Shott's responses on twitter obviously blooms his mind's shadow of foolishness. The more he blubbers, the more childish his arguments are. He's really blinded by his calloused aged erroneous doctrines.

Nevertheless, thanks be to God, I know the truth. I am worthless. Kudos, Bro. Eli. We owe so much God because of your effort to fulfill God's Will. We love you so much.

  10. Thanks be to God for this mind and spiritual enlightening blog Bro.Eli. It's been a long long time when catholic unfaith existed and not and ever understand the Bible that is why they are resulted to baptizing infants because of not understanding the verse in Matthew 28:19-20 that is steve shott referring to " all nations" meaning, for him, infants, adults would be baptized and follows that forcing of those infants. The infants clearly mentioned does'nt have faith and not have the capacity of accepting baptism...nowadays in the latter part, they don't baptizing adults...for making catholic members they must baptized from the time of infanthood so that they can make sure members of their religion. Moreover, the out of this world reasoning of steve shott that came from the devil that forcing him to defends his unfaith catholic doctrine. Poor shott pity for him, and those who believes to the catholic teachings. Thanks be to God for sending us His Knowledge and Wisdom ,and understanding the Bible that inside the congregation of MCGI we have the gift of these...thru His preachers...Bro.Eli Soriano & Bro. Daniel Razon. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift. Thanks be to God for His faith. To God be the Glory!!!

  16. it is very obvious that priest doen't know what he is talking about. It is true that in our last days the truth will be unsealed like what Bro. Eli told about his articles. He wants to open our eyes in reality of what are the truth behind the teachings of false religions like the religion of this Priest. Our Lord God knew what He was saying about in baptism in this verse:
    MATTHEW 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

But others didn't knew the real essence of the feelings and thoughts of our Creator.

Thanks Be to God in this information with based in facts and Bible.
Only the real preachers of God will know it and no one false preachers here in our world will knew it, it will remain for them as an Idioms.

  26. It amazes me how diligent Mr. Controversy is in answering the questions of Mr. Shott which are for a common reader like me, obviously nonsensical. 27. I am all at times very much grateful for there are truthful men sent in and for our time to expose such ignorance of countless false preachers whose intention is to delude many people. Thank God, for I myself was once blinded by the belief that infants can be baptized. Yet through Bro. Eli´s teachings, out of genuine Love for people and concern for them to be saved from deceptions, I now understand that baptizing infants would only mean forced baptism, for as to quote-unquote bro. Eli in this Blog “Acceptance of teachings is a pre-requisite” as being exemplified Acts 8:36-38. And for the reason that babies does not have the capacity to believe or have faith ergo they cannot be baptized. Thanks be to God, 14 years ago I came to apprehend that my baptism when I was a baby in the Catholic Church was a complete madness. Thanks be to God for such a truthful and faithful servants of our times.

  31. I deeply regret that when I was a catholic, i paid for my niece's baptism. She was only 1 year old back then...I realize now that infant baptism is some sort of a felony- a spiritual kind. It's the RCC's way digging money from its members...

Aside from that, the "inquisition" that the RCC carried out is absolutely appalling...the catholic clergy projects the RCC as holy and godly but any so-called Christian church that takes lives to those who don't want to embrace it is anything but holy...it's satanic...The Lord Jesus Christ never ordered anyone in the original church to commit mass murder...

  32. Infant Baptism is a violation of a person's right to choose. How could an infant have faith or choose the right faith to follow? The Gospel states that a person qualified for Baptism must have faith. Just like what Mr.Controversy is pointing out in this blog. Thanks Mr.Controversy!

Shott must shut up his lips, for he is very ignorant of the bible,no wonder, idolaters don't read the bible.Baptism is a very important doctrine, one must be taught & he or she must believe to qualify for baptism. Catholic invented doctrine like infant baptism is there only way to add members by force.

  35. Thanks be to God for yet another thorough explanation on why baptizing infants is not in God's teachings! This Catholic priest clearly does not read the Bible, he misinterpret the true meaning of Mat 28:19-20. Thanks be to God that MrControversyEx explains carefully and clearly the true meaning of the verse. If only catholic priest reads the Bible they wouldn't make such false doctrines, and due to their misinterpretation they've hurt, kill, or torture innocent people just because they're against their stinking beliefs! It's common sense that an infant can't perceive anything and it clearly says in the Bible that Faith comes from hearing. yet you still baptize infants? How foolish Thanks be to God for this eye opening blog from MrControversyEx!

  36. Baptism should be done according to the process that is written in the Bible. The one who will be baptize will be the one to accept the doctrines, and of course, with faith, he will be the one to go to the baptizer. How can an infant do that?

    ReplyDelete
  37. "There is wisdom in God’s words. Baptism requires understanding and acceptance of the teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Therefore, age is important – and more than that is the acceptance of baptism itself. Then and only then will a person be baptized." Yes, I do believe in what Mr. Controversy said. Because Baptism is sacred it is not an ordinary way that anyone can be baptize without faith. For the Priest read the Bible again and analyze it. Thanks be to God for this wonderful blog of Mr. Controversy.

  43. Thanks be to God for the another wonderful truth from Mr. Controversy.

I believe that baptism is a requirement for us to be save but I do not believe on what Steve Shott's belief that there's no age qualification in baptism - he concludes that the infant is obliged to baptized. How pity and how awful and how foolish is that belief. Actually, age is very vital in baptism because the baptism is intended to those who are in capacity to believe or to have faith and faith comes from hearing. How an infant is baptized if he/she hasn't in the capacity to hear the word of God and afterward believe?

The baptism, the qualification to receive is in the capacity to understand the word of God fully and to believe. Not in age of numbers but in AGE IN REASONS.

Baptism is not forcible but in willingness of the person to receive. By force is the sin but by willingness is in the will of God mentioned in Isaiah 1:19.

It is not right to force someone to baptize in the Church founded in Rome came from the Great Schism mentioned in the world history. How dare they are that the one will forced anybody to baptized and if he is not want to baptized is to crucify or hang on a stake and out into death or to be fed by the animals as they are like. What a darkness - a great darkness in the Catholic Church.

Roman Catholic Church must read this blog to open their hearts and minds to understand the word of God fully. Thanks be to God.

  44. A very enlightening blog!
A criterion to be qualified for baptism is faith - that a man is willing to accept the doctrines and follow it. How can an infant have faith if he is still incapable of hearing and understanding the words, as ROMANS 10:14,17 stated that faith cometh from hearing and hearing by the word of God. In this case, an infant is not yet qualified for the true baptism that is written in the Bible.
Thanks to Bro. Eli for this well-written blog!

RCCs claim that they use their bible and yet do not follow what is written in it...

Thank God that there is someone who reads the bible to us and been given wisdom and understanding...
Thanks be to God " Mr Controversy"!

I was once a follower of wrong beliefs, having been affiliated with the RCC faith. I was baptised when I was an infant, as expected without any comprehension, no FAITH at all which directly contradicts the holy scriptures...

But thank God for He showed mercy unto me. After hearing the true doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ and had faith in it i have been baptised in the true church in our dispensation...

  52. By reading this featured blog of MrControversyX I now can fully understand that misinterpreting the Scriptures can be very dangerous. Lives and more importantly souls are at stake here.

  53. To Priest Shott, you must listen to our indoctrination sessions, repent and be baptized. You are at the right age now to understand that your church is futile and that the infant baptism you are trying to defend is not biblical, there is still time, you will learn the truth if you listen to Brother Eli.Thanks be to God !

  54. Once more, Mr. Controversy addressed another concern about the patently false belief of infant baptism. But then again, as Mr. Controversy said, "Light illuminates. But light blinds others!"

    ReplyDelete
  55. Here you go again Mr. Shott, evidently you do not understand the Bible.
I pity those people who are blinded by your church's teachings.
May these articles open the minds of people who are being mislead by their false leaders.
Thanks be to God Mr. Controversy.

  56. Voila! Kudos to this another enlightening and liberating blog of Mr. Controversy. This blog simply contains: incontrovertible truth, enough to dissipate the ignorance in us, esp. if we are not familiar with the strange and sinful existence of RCCism. ASEDA NKA ONYAKOPON!

    ReplyDelete
  57. This is a perfect biblical explanation why anyone should not be forced to undergo baptism, more so, infants who are not capable of deciding for themselves. Mr. Shott's effort to defend their doctrines only brought more shame and ridicule to the Roman Catholic church. On the other hand, the wisdom of God continues to shine even brighter with Bro. Eli's irrefutable and logical reasoning directly from the Holy Scriptures. To God be the glory!

  58. Thanks be to God for another blessing through this blog of Mr. ControversyX! Wisdom is really manifested herein. Baptism is not done to all nations. You can only go on to nations "To Teach" the doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ. But not "To Force" them to undergo baptism! What RCC is doing is that they go to nations and "Forcing" them to be baptized! Which is not God's way. Baptism is done unto believers. Though you've been taught about the doctrines and aren't believing, baptism is not for you! Thanks be to God for A Servant like you Bro. Eli Soriano!

  59. It is very clear!! another wonderful blog. infant baptism is not God way it is RCC invented doctrine for money making!

  61. I was once baptized by the catholic church back then when i was still an infant, but if i knew and was aware of the true teachings of the Bible , I would have refuted the baptism and debated my parents about their wrong belief, but that was impossible for a baby to know. It should always be freewill as what written in the holy Scriptures .Thanks be to God for mr. Controversy for opening the our eyes and so many people around the world !

  64. Well written and presented, complete with Biblical and historical evidences. Forcing someone to get baptist is Truly not a Gods way of salvation. I hope more Catholic will wake up and realised why Jose Rizal was shot dead on his own land by foreign Spaniards.

  65. it's another day given to each and everyone of us to witness the continuing spiritual battle of good and evil, to published a blog like this, of such a very high calibre, you need courage, determination and the help, mercy and guidance of the Almighty God in deciphiring and exposing the age old practice of infant baptism by one of the most influentials and corrupted religion of all times the Roman Catholic Church! The wisdom of God that is guiding Mr. ControversyX to write this kind of blog, of such a high calibre that no man can do but him. Thanks be to God for an overflowing wisdom and understanding given to this man we know here as Mr. ControversyX, who he is, where he was... is still a question in some of their mind, until then...

  66. Only Bro. Eli can fully explain what is the true baptism is according to the Bible, might as well according to some publications of other denominations (especially RCC) that proves their innocence from the Scriptures.

I hope this priest will read this, not hoping to believe in it, but to have an insight of what bro. Eli has to convey on this article.

    Thanks be to God.

  68. Another astonishing explanation of the truth from the Bible by @MrControversyX! 100% blow to the head of this priest so called Rev. Fr. Sthephen "Steve" Shott. Displaying his ignorance of the bible comes a very profound explanation & teaching from @MrControversyX! How their infant baptism results to inquisition! Truly force baptism is not a God's way! Thanks be to God! To God be the Glory!

  69. I am both happy and sad, happy because once again Brother Eli Soriano had dissected this topic to the minute level of understanding. Even those who did not reach a very high level of education will be able to understand the Biblical logic that this blog contains. But I feel sad for the likes of Steve Shott and his victims who profess to have gained degrees in universities but fail to comprehend that baptism in not forced upon anybody by Christ nor by His apostles. Thanks be to GOD for sending Brother Eli Soriano to us in this generation or else we would have been fooled by false preachers. TO GOD BE THE GLORY !!!

  70. Another bad shot for this shotts, poor priest, he is just disregarding the glaring facts from the bible. this priest no cares for the truth but to gain money. On the other hand , another nice shot by Mr.Controversy, all I can say is Amen, and to God be the Glory forever.

  71. The evil spirits of the inquisitors back then are still very much alive and working within the catholic priests nowadays. One very evident example is this priest called Shott. Since he cannot defend his beliefs and catholic dogmas Biblically, he calls us fundamentalists. And invents accusations against Bro. ELi Soriano. Even committing offense against one of the Philippine highest court's decisions. He has no fear because he knows his influence is as immense as his evil counterparts during inquisition period. He does not want a peaceful debate over satellite or internet hook up or face to face in a neutral land. His evil intentions as well as actions are obvious..But however he evades a chivalrous debate against Bro. Eli, he can not deny the fact that he is now in deep obligation to answer for his fellow catholics.
I am safe to say that this priest is not working on his will alone. Rather he is being dictated by his authorities and supported by his colleagues. In short, he is not alone in his moronic points of view regarding the Bible that is over flowing in Twitter.
Their killings is on! This time, they are trying to assassinate the character of Bro.Eli Soriano. For they know deep in their filthy hearts that there is no other way they can resist the teachings Bro.Eli Soriano is preaching unto all nations.
While it not impossible for Mr.Controversy to win this war against evil tyrants, as we all can see that he is backed up by The Truth, It will help that we do not only read and comment on his blogs. But we must also share it specially to our loved ones who are being misguided.by the evil priests and pastors. This will hasten the job.
May God Almighty and Christ Jesus continue to guide us in this battle.

  72. In the true CHURCH of GOD, baptism is a necessity..... IF........ you accept the doctrine with faith and repentance. But it is a CHOICE you make. It's not a decision we make for you. Because the CHURCH OF GOD is a bible oriented church. Its a church, not a cult as Steve Shott claims it to be. We don't baptize infants in our church because infants can only handle milk, not meat. MCGI's know what that means. The fact that the RCC baptizes infants just shows how little or none that church knows about the bible. I was a religious catholic for 37 years. I have always fought for my faith, not knowing how foolish I really was. I reasoned out and defended every single criticism they say about the catholic faith and church. I had the answers to every stones they throw. But when I joined the true CHURCH of GOD, it proved how ridiculous my beliefs were. And I didn't see that at first. Because I was stubborn. But when I humbled myself, I began to see and understand what used to be mystery. I thank GOD for Bro.ELI. For making him an instrument to open our eyes. I don't really care what STEVE SHOTT thinks of BRO.ELI. His insults and defamation of the man who showed me the light. I just know that I was blind once and BRO.ELI gave me the sight, with the help and grace of our LORD GOD in the name of Jesus. Now I can see. And no other church helped me see what I see now. The church you call cult made me see and realize many things I didn't see in the RCC.

You ought to try it STEVE! It's not yet too late to question your doctrine.

  95. In this place where I’m at, consent is extremely important. You could be jailed by doing something that affects other people, directly or indirectly, without their consent.

Infants are easy prey to these RCC. First thing is that, infants can’t argue. They can’t even complain, they can’t say no. They are innocent and helpless victims who can neither agree nor disagree. Consent in this case was not obtained, why? Because of the unlearned leaders of the RCC about the teachings of the Bible.

Why would RCC baptize infants if they are unskillfull in the word of righteousness, or if they have no capacity to believe or to have faith? Maybe Mr. Shott can shot us another twisted answer!

But for us, we are very thankful to God and TO GOD BE THE GLORY forever! Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is in our midst to teach, not just us but also to enlighten all readers, that God wants all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

  96. It is worthwhile to read Mr. Controversy X's blogs; not only you learn about your history but your spirit is enlightened and fed with pure teachings. Meticulously studied and wholeheartedly delivered for the benefit of the reader's salvation.

Thank God that I was given an opportunity to read this blog, only now that I learned the reason why the catholic inquisition took place. It's because of the catholic authorities who DO NOT KNOW the Bible. They are worst than Hitler in my own opinion. Hitler was stopped when he was defeated; but the RCC's EVIL REIGN still covers majority of the world. Disguised as men and women who cannot even hurt a fly, but inside is a MONSTER that devours the souls of the innocents (from infants to the elders).

I pray that God continue to give Mr. Controversy X the life, strength and resources to continue exposing the RCC's skeletons in their closet. So that more people will understand and come to faith to the REAL CHURCH in our time.

Baptism must not be forced to anyone. People should have faith when accepting the baptism. Infants do not have any capacity to believe and to observe all things that the Lord Jesus Christ had commanded.

Poor Catholics they misinterpreted the Mat. 28:19-20 thinking that they must baptise all nations. It was clearly written "teach all nations" it never said baptise all nations. Due to this misunderstanding, it lead to the inquisition killing 300,000 people. Also killing the Philippines' National Hero Dr Jose Rizal.

  122. Steve Shott doesn’t understand the bible well, and he is also adding his own thoughts in it. You can’t force anyone to be baptized. How much more baptizing an infant? You can only baptize a person if he/she accepts the teachings. That was a command given by Lord Jesus Christ to His Apostles.

  127. Thanks be to God for the continuation of your blog last week Mr. Controversy. I hope RCC would read this one for them to be enlightened on what is true. People should not believe on what Fr. Steve Shott were saying. Even he himself doesn't really understand the verse Matthew 28:19-20. God said “teach all nations, baptizing them” but not all people choose to be baptized because not all nations accept God's teaching. It is very clear that Fr. Shott doesn't understand the verse itself. It is also true that you can't baptize an infant or child because they still don't have better understanding about Faith.

  130. To some fanatics perhaps, sticking to their faith as catholics is a symbol of their loyalty to the church. But loyalty is good if what you are being loyal to would lead you to the TRUTH. You may be loyal to your boss not because your job does people good -- but because your boss pays you and the benefits you get for doing your job makes you meet your needs. A criminal may be loyal to his mob boss irregardless of the risk of getting caught and breaking the law. Loyalty does not make any distinction whether it's for the good or evil. But wouldn't you rather be loyal to someone or about something which takes you to the TRUTH? What joy would there be to be the wealthiest man in the world if everything around you was derived from deception.....if you won the election as the President of the United States, knowing that you cheated? The Roman Catholic church have deceived almost the entire world for professing what they inculcate in our minds as truth, but were all lies after all. How could you be loyal to a church who misleads you and keep you away from knowing the real GOD in the bible? Loyalty is good if you're being loyal to what is TRUE and good.

How many parents have feared of not having their infants baptized by the catholic church because of LIMBO? That awkward feeling of not having our infants baptized because the catholic church taught us or made us think and believe that unbaptized infants are prone to illness, demonic possessions and risk of death. The name you have for your child can't even be official despite a birth certificate , until the child is baptized. The wrong notions the catholic faith taught us is nothing worth being loyal to and loyal about. And there is nothing wrong about being against on something if what you are being against to would actually save your soul.

Steve Shott defends the catholic church as if he was elected to represent their church. I doubt that their POPE in ROME even knows him or have heard of him. Bro.ELI Soriano is a reputable man. Steve Shott heard of him. But Bro.ELI never heard of him until he spoke of allegations he cannot prove to be genuine himself.

The accusations and law suits he's into were our enemy's way of diverting and eluding from humiliation in defending their faith. If they cannot reason out anymore on a debate about a theme, they resort to insulting Bro.ELI to change the topic. Look at Steve Shott, a catholic priest from North Carolina USA. He malign Bro.ELI and questions his incapacity to go home. And Shott will only face Bro.ELI on a debate if it will be held in the Philippines. In other words, Steve Shott challenges Bro.ELI on a debate at a venue he already knows deem impossible. That's like picking up a fight with Tyson in a virtual boxing. A real COWARD. I seriously doubt that Steve Shott could even face Bro.ELI in the United States someday. That would be the day.

Is there someone or something really worth being loyal to?
I am loyal to the Church of GOD because it's worth being loyal to. I am loyal to the GOD the bible teaches. I am loyal to Bro.ELI, the man who lead me to see the truth.
And to the doctrines I learned where INFANT BAPTISM or FORCED BAPTISM were never taught. And for all these I thank GOD. To GOD be the GLORY!

  132. If anyone should not be forced to undergo baptism, more so, infants shouldn’t be baptized because they are not capable of deciding for themselves. Biblically and logically, the baptism commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ will not be bestowed upon anyone who does not believe. Baptism signifies submission to GOD through FAITH! How then infants or babes have faith? "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

  148. The Catholic Baptism as per reference http://www.aboutcatholics.com/beliefs/a-guide-to-catholic-baptism/. made mention that .....Most baptisms are done by a priest or deacon when the person is an infant, but there are extreme cases when even an UNBAPTIZED PERSON can baptize someone. Now.....there are two things I want to bring up here. First of all, in the true CHURCH OF GOD, the church RCC priest STEVE SHOTT persecutes and branded as a CULT..... "DO NOT ALLOW an UNBAPTIZED PERSON conduct the baptism. Secondly, WE DO NOT BAPTIZE INFANTS.
In the CHURCH OF GOD INTERNATIONAL, only qualified and appointed baptizers are allowed to conduct the baptism. Baptism for the CHURCH OF GOD is a very delicate and holy event. It is not enough to say that ANYONE...whether that someone is BAPTIZED OR UNBAPTIZED, may actually baptize anyone who desires to be a christian. In the above mentioned website, the article stipulates that -- All that is required is “the will to do what the Church does when she baptizes, and to apply the Trinitarian Baptismal formula.” Seriously? I didn’t know that the catholic church allows non-catholic to baptize anyone who wants to be a catholic. Does just doesn’t make any sense at all. They said that this type of baptism is valid “because RCC believes in the universal saving will of GOD and the necessity of baptism for salvation” . Just an FYI Steve Shott, baptism is indeed a necessity if performed in the right church. That’s not the Roman Catholic Church. Also, please don’t insist again that Jesus praised the ROMANS. If I understood it correctly, Jesus complimented the Centurion. That’s singular. And that centurion was a ROMAN. He is not the ROMANS. That’s in case you want to be grammatical about it.
Now, notice that baptism in the catholic church does not conform with the teachings in the bible. In the catholic church, even a non-catholic unbaptized person can baptize someone to become a catholic as long as the TRINITARIAN Baptismal formula is applied. Though there is no such thing as TRINITY, the writer most likely refers to this as the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. The Church of GOD International do not believe in TRINITY. The word trinity is not even in the bible. The catholic church like rephrasing or altering words in the bible. The TRINITY is what catholics refer to as the EQUALITY of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Because they are not EQUAL, by the way. Steve Shott would have learned a lot from Bro.ELI Soriano if he would just open his heart.

  149. Catholics might have thought of this illogical practice of theirs but they rather refuse to question it! Baptism should change a person from his sinful life. But then, babies and infants are still incapable of reasoning. Hence, how can they commit sin?
I add, second parents who are invited to baptism they say should guide their "godchildren" through their Catholic faith. But the reality is they are only seen as banks who are expected to give money to their godchildren during their birthdays, their Christmas and the like.
The poor who want their babies be baptized cannot because of the high cost that is asked of them by the Catholic church. To ask for money to perform baptism is against the doctrines of Christ! Such foolishness!
Thanks be to God, Mr. ControversyX for enlightening us once again!

  150. To continue, in reference to http://www.aboutcatholics.com/beliefs/a-guide-to-catholic-baptism/, the article says that BAPTISM forgives all sins that may have been committed prior to a person’s baptism including original sin, mortal sins, and venial sins, and it relieves the punishment for those sins. Firstly, there is no such thing as an original sin. That is one of the worse inventions in the RCC doctrine. Secondly, baptism only forgives sins. It does not guarantee salvation. But it’s a good start to live a clean life with Christ. Saved once isn’t always saved. Surely the RCC does not practice that doctrine.
What is troubling in the said website is the catholic’s DECEPTIVE NOTION about baptism. They said that, “baptism leaves and indelible spiritual mark (character) of belonging to Christ on the soul. Nothing you can do will take away this mark even if you sin a million times. Those sins may not grant you salvation, but you will always carry the mark of a Christian on your soul”. Are you aware of this STEVE SHOTT? This is a remarkably foolish statement. Wow. Firstly, what did it mean when it said NOTHING WILL TAKE AWAY THIS MARK ? And secondly, EVEN IF YOU SIN A MILLION TIMES? Now, I am not saying the you said this Steve Shott. You catholic website did. And as an OFFICIAL or UNOFFICIAL representative of RCC, you must have heard of this already. Unless of course your priests have different doctrines which of course isn’t un-astonishingly inconsistent. So to be baptized in the catholic church is a forever mark no one can take away. And it comes with a warranty. This mark does not go away even if you sin a million times. I have news for you , Steve Shott, in THE CHURCH OF GOD INTERNATIONAL, you call cult believes otherwise. Baptism of the water is a good start to live your new life as you reconcile with GOD. But it’s not a waiver to save you from the curse of hell. Fortunately, BRO.ELI SORIANO, the man you persecute and malign, made it clear to us that the holy spirit leaves you whenever you sin. So logic implies that a million sins is a long way definite guarantee that the so called mark you mentioned here will not go away. Also, in our church Steve Shott, we consider GOD our FATHER. We do not need sponsors, you call godparents, to assist us in our faith. You’re missing a lot STEVE. Must be nice if you understood how wrong you really are.
Does the CHURCH OF GOD force baptism? No! Because GOD does not! Period.

  161. Infant baptism is a force baptism because baptism requires faith. Infants are not capable of making great decisions, especially what religion to believe. If there is no record that the Apostles and Christians practice infant baptism in the Bible so it means it is not a commandment. Steve Shott can't prove infant baptism, one of the reasons why he is afraid to face Bro Eli in a debate. I found out that Steve Shott is a coward priest, a false accuser and a big liar. Thanks be to God for sending bro Eli- the most sensible preacher in our times and always ready to defend the Truth in the Bible.I'm very happy with my decision to leave Roman Catholic Church,. I understand more the Bible through Bro Eli and Bro Daniel. I hope many Catholics are enlightened to this blog.

  163. Poor bad Shott. He was blinded by glaring light. The mystery of the Kingdom of God was not given to him.
The true preacher of God baptize a person who has capacity to believe or to has faith. Babies or infant cannot have faith. Babies must not baptized.
Pity this priest and those who will believe him. He has futile defense of his erroneous faith.

Thanks God for having this blog. Brother Eli knows how to cast the truth.

  164. Poor Stephen Shott. He doesn't know his Bible. There ain't such thing as "baptize all nations" in Matthew 28:19-20. It is impossible to the whole nation to be baptized even in the time of our Jesus Christ. SHOT is just a product of Roman Catholic Church's ignorance about the bible. An infant should not need to be baptized because they cannot accept the doctrine for they are babe and has no awareness, they can't even answer the question of the baptizer during the baptism. It is a clear forced baptism like the INQUISITION. What a worst religion, forcing infant to be baptized. "Napakasamang relihiyon, buti nalang naalis ako diyan".

There was a child who is baptized in the RCC, but how laughable he is asking his mother if he is really a CATHOLIC MEMBER. Roman Catholic Church forcing infant baptism for the money.

-Thanks be to GOD Mr. Controversy
    -God bless us all.

Petty trick!. I bet the reason why there are atheist is because of the invented practices of false religion such as RCC. God is so Great that He never fail to reveal the truth. We are blessed to have Mr. controversy! To God be the Glory!

  166. The death of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, was initiated by Catholics because of the attacks and criticisms written by our hero against the abuses of the Catholic Church in my country of origin, through his books, “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo.”

The Filipino pride Dr. Jose Rizal was killed by the Catholic, forcing their doctrine, and blocking the criticism. I do believe in God, Jesus Christ, Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel and Rizal that's why I'm against the Catholic Church.

  179. Once again in this blog we have proven the stupidity of Steve Shott. For him to say that there is no age requirement in baptism, he just shown his ignorance of the truth. He doesn't even know his bible. No wonder because this priest doesn't read his bible neither encourage his members to do so. As what the bible said a person must be taught of the true doctrines of Christ before he or she can be baptized. A thing that u cannot do to an infant. Simple logic that Steve Shott don't have. He can't even show a verse that Christ ever instituted infant baptism. Thanks be to God once again for using Bro Eli Soriano and Bro Daniel Razon in making this matter of faith clear to all especially for those who were under the deceit of false pastor like Steve Shott. GRACIAS A DIOS, A DIOS SEA LA GLORIA y LA HONRA!!
