Donald Trump: Pls Learn a Little History about Filipinos

Republican U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump said Filipinos are part of a “Trojan horse” of “terrorist nations.”

Trump’s call to stop Muslims from entering the U.S. and to build a wall to prevent Mexican “drug dealers” and “rapists” has drawn condemnation from around the world. Lately, it was time for Philippines to be affronted.

Trump said these countries included Afghanistan, Iraq, Morocco, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Uzbekistan, Yemen and the Philippines, and referred to them as “animals.”(Roberto R. Romulo, “Trump: Filipinos are terrorists and animals,” The Philippine Star, August 12, 2016)

The Philippines has been a hospitable home for Americans for more than a hundred years. They have enjoyed the hospitality of Filipinos even in their pursuit of global powers and control.

There were three American bases in the Philippines that served as strategic strongholds of America in South East Asia: the Clark Airbase in Pampanga, the Subic Naval Base in Zambales (it was the largest American overseas military base in the world), and the Sangley Point in Cavite, Philippines. In all these bases, Filipinos served like slaves - even as sex slaves of the American forces! Throughout these years, the Philippines has been a formidable ally of America in its political and economic leadership worldwide.

It is worthwhile mentioning that the Philippines is a friend not only to Americans. History has it that when the Jews were being rejected by other countries in their attempt to escape the evil of the holocaust, the Philippines through its President Manuel L. Quezon, was the only country that opened its doors to receive almost 1,300 Jews.

Moreover, the Philippines' vote became the tiebreaker at the United Nations in favor of UN Resolution 181 concerning the partition of Palestine and the Creation of the State of Israel in 1947.

Philippines was also a host to hundreds of thousands of Indochinese (Vietnamese, Cambodians, Lao) refugees accepted in Philippine Refugee Processing Center in Morong, Bataan and the Philippine First Asylum Center in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

So how could Philippines be a terrorist nation? Philippines is the only Christian country in Asia, home to most American preachers and peddlers of the word of God!

II CORINTHIANS 2:17 (RSV)
For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word; but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

Filipinos are world-class citizens, enjoying the trust and confidence of many American households who employ them as domestic helpers, caregivers, and professionals par excellence.

Twenty percent of all workers in all luxury cruises in the world that traverse its greatest oceans are Filipinos. If this twenty percent of workers, engineers, technical people, and professionals will declare strike, practically there would be a standstill in the operation of all of these luxury liners.

A Filipino is a trusted cook that prepares the food of the most powerful man on earth in the White House. A Filipino was part of a team of experts that brought the first man and the first American to the moon!

Donald Trump is not a world-class citizen, yet he speaks out of ignorance against the Filipinos! To ban the Filipinos in America is gross ignorance of who the Filipinos are!

While it is true that there are Filipinos who can be considered extremists, it is not because they are Filipinos but because they were deceived by ideologies that equally deceived Americans as well!

I am a Filipino and I know truly who Filipinos are! We are peace-loving people. We are God-fearing people. The Philippines is the only country in Asia, home to almost all religious beliefs that originated from America and Europe.

To say the least that Filipinos should be banned from entering the US because there are Filipinos influenced by religious beliefs that transformed their way of thinking is insanity.

For example, there are Filipinos who have accepted the perverted thinking of an American who founded the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints or LDS church or Mormonism to have more than one wife like their founder, Joseph Smith.

This Smith, an American who collected forty-eight wives, is not the fault of every Filipino but of a select group of victims who were influenced by the evil that some Americans brought to our country! They believed in their lies.

An unsolicited advice for the billionaire Mr. Trump from a poor Filipino: Learn a little of history before submitting yourself to be the president of a great nation that America is, with an ever-loyal ally, the FILIPINOS!

May God bless you, Mr. Trump and the United States of America!

Sincerely yours,

Brother Eli

    1. Honestly, nothing new about donald trump here. As much as I agree with the message of this blog, the idea to get Trump to reconsider or to think, i don't think Donald even actually thinks. He is not just ignorant of Philippine History or Filipinos in general, he is ignorant about everything including the US constitution. All he chooses to uphold is the interest of the second amendment, which might i say is a pretty "extremist" thing he is doing. White supremacist, racism, hate speech, and condoning violent rallies by his supporters - Trump is an extremist of extremist! He doesn't care about people or countries, he doesn't even care about his country. Did you know that he used campaign money to pay himself? He paid the rent for conventions held at his homes, restaurants, or trump tower. He went to europe mid-campaign to promote his golf course and used campaign fundings to pay for that. Yest he claims he doesn't ask for donations while his websites do insist that viewers donate.
If there is in the slightest a possibility for Trump to actually read and learn about our nation, our people, i doubt he'd in the least bit care. But if there is anyone in the world who could change his mind, yes, that would be bro. Eli, so i DO hope he gets to read this blog.
In every sense of the words, yes, may God bless America, and we pray for Donald Trump that despite how rich he is, he is a poor, poor man. Bless his heart.

I'm not racist or anything but the facts really show, based on the great number of supporters he still have, that a large mass of idiots constitute the American population. I know americans who would definitely agree with me. As i detailed in another comment here, Donald Trump is ignorant, but he is an ignorant who doesn't WANT to know. An untamed tongue is one thing, an untamed ignorant mouth is another.

  50. It was worth to read this blog. About Trump, from the start of his campaign, I don't really support his agendas like what he said to the Filipinos. He really needs to learn the history about Filipinos. Because you can really say that Trump is not a good leader. Because he doesn't think what he said. He will say what he wants to say without thinking or analyzing it.

He doesn't know what Filipinos are. My uncle is a caregiver and an American citizen for almost 20 years. If Filipinos are part of a "terrorist nations", then why is it my uncle still has job and citizenship in America.

One thing, when I read this blog, I didn't know Pres. Manuel L. Quezon opened the Philippines for Jews that were being rejected by other countries in their attempt to escape the evil of the holocaust. Because when I was elementary and high school, it doesn't mentioned from my subject of History. When I read this part of the blog, I'm really thankful that I'm a Filipino and Filipinos are really a world-class citizen.

There is a FILIPINO saying that goes: DON'T TALK WHAT YOU CANNOT WALK OR YOU WILL END UP EATING YOUR OWN WORDS.

I am reacting to this blog not as a Democrat nor a Clinton supporter. I am replying to Bro.Eli's blog as a christian. As a filipino. I am non-partisan. Neither Trump nor Clinton attracts my vote. But Trump interests me because I am now convinced that not because someone is a billionaire necessarily means he knows everything. Maybe he is a good economist. Maybe his forte is on making billions of dollars in investment. But that does not excuse him for his mediocrity . One of the verses in the bible that I learned from Bro.ELI was the verse in Proverbs 9:13 (Intl Standard Version) --- The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and without knowledge. Just imagine....if a woman who talks too much is foolish as per the bible, what does that make a loud man? Let me see, if we put it respectably, that would be MR.Foolish.

Just how could a presidential candidate of the most powerful country in the world have the audacity to expose his ignorance on TV and is being viewed around the world? If there is a contest for stupendous idiocrasy...TRUMP would have taken the bacon home. I would not even talk like that in a barbershop.

Filipinos are not idiots....DONALD TRUMP. Neither are we animals. It's amazing how you came up with that notion. You are quite fortunate that the muslim nations has not bombed your residence yet with your unprecedented criticism. Or how about the mexican cartel who probably would find butchering you entertaining. For a moment, please allow me to borrow what Hilary Clinton said ---- WORDS MATTER. And that is what you have too much and ironically something you lack to understand. Maybe if you have wisdom, the world would have benefited more every time you open your mouth.

He really don't know the history between Philippines and U.S. I think the impact of it to the people is not good so its hard for him to win in the election. I am a Filipino so its hurt on my part. So please Donald Trump learn a little history about Filipinos before speaking. God Bless! Thanks be to God Mr. Controversy X for this informative blog.

  81. It's a shame that Mr. Donald Trump a presidential candidate of US, one of the most powerful countries in the world is generalizing that Philippines is a terrorist country or even calling Filipinos an "animal". Perhaps he's threathened because Filipinos are now aware and conscious about the real situation and issues that we are facing today. Moreover, Filipinos nowadays became popular in different fields all over the world. And it also stated in the blog that Philippines is the only Christian country in Asia. So how come that he's generalizing all Filipinos should be banned in America? Inspite the fact that the Philippines has been a hospitable home for Americans for more than a hundred years. Filipinos are peace-loving people. Filipinos are GOD- fearing people. And I am proud to be a Filipino! Thanks be to GOD! :)

You think your perspective in society will work through your ignorance? People will vote for your ignorance? Since 1901 Filipinos were already under the rule of American. From time to time building a structure of society. 3.4 Million of Filipino workers were in America and they're still making their name. A lot of American investors stays up here in the Philippines. 104. Perhaps it would be so hypocritical to even say that not a single Filipino wasn't enraged with your comment MR. WANNABE U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP, generalizing us by labeling us as animals, so I wouldn't even pretend to say I take no offense. Trump's unscrupulous manners won't even fit as a Mayor in the Philippines. Yes, the Philippines...which he referred to as where terrorist and animals came from. The Republicans should have ostracized you from the beginning since you were just a nuisance initially. But Americans love good talk and political circus.  A sound of boisterous dog barking has whimsical effect to their ears. But believe me, eventually you would realize that you have been used to orchestrate a jazz band to make it sound majestic. But without the right instruments, you would end up singing in the tune of Beatle's song HELP.

It's easy to insult people Mr.Trump. in fact, addressing you with the title Mister on my end sounds a little sarcastic. Either that or I was just being polite. But before I lose the equilibrium of my reply to this blog, let me advise you that your money can't buy you respect. Yes you will impress many and the anti-Clintons would vote for you. Not so because they want you as President. But because they buy your ambrosial speeches a president candidate would never have spoken.

Let me just have this to say for now. Refrain from further damaging your  egotism. And start thinking like human to start with. Because anyone in his proper state of mind would not even think the way you do. You watch too many movies.

Until again, let me pause for now. Thanks be to God for a Bro.Eli who taught the MCGI's to be wise and rational. To God be the Glory.

For billionaire businessman like Mr. Trump what would you think the ROI for America? Make America great as he claims. To me America never been unpopular . One thing I learned in ethics to success is to know how "TO ACT AS IF". Don't talk like a hoodlum if you are a lawyer. More so, don't talk like a gangster if you're running for president. The billionaire Donald Trump talks too much that if he spends a dollar in every word he says --- he would go bankrupt. Bro. Eli on the  other hand may talk a lot....but if we make a dollar in every sensible words he utter, every MCGI would have been more wealthier than you Donald Trump. Because a single bible verse is way far better than every mambo jumbo stories Donald Trump has to say. Oh no, I am not taking this personally but Filipinos already  took this universally.

I just have one question for you Donald Trump. If Filipinos are animals, specie are you ?  Because regular and educated humans aren't like that. I rest my case.

Law of physic states if there's an action there will always be an opposite reaction. Whose country in the world that the extremists chant to death with. Is it Filipinos? If Muslims extremists in Mindanao become a conduit for terrorism the whole country suffers its reaction. It is your enemies. You should be helping the Philippine government of your actions against these people. Americans have been a long time friend with Filipinos. Don't make it unfriendly.

Because speaking from the heart is different from speaking for the sake of having something to say. He sounds like an air conditioner running without a freon. Feckless!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong. But shouldn't TRUMP take crash courses from DUTERTE, and stop talking trashes ? Duterte walk his talk. Trump talks his talks. You have no strategy Donald Trump. Don't bite the hands of those who might feed you. Or better yet, dont exasperate the electorates who would sit you in power. Calling the Filipinos' names is like telling all the Filipinos in the United States to NOT VOTE for you. Has that notion crossed your mind? Humans.....call that "common sense". Something you, being a human, is expected to have. I thought billionaires are supposed to be  smart people? Is common sense that expensive that you can't afford to buy one?

Oh well. Your candidacy in my opinion is the worse thing the Republicans ever vouched for. I wonder what other deleterious divulgations  have you to say before the election? It seems to me that you're burying yourself vastly. The more you open your mouth, the more a slice of  your pizza pie with bologna toppings  is eaten. My thoughts and inside me had a question if ever Mr. Trump has something against Filipinos in general. The speech was great but then at moment the Philippines was mentioned. He blamed people coming into U.S soil as immigrants from Moroccan, Quebec, Syria, Somalia, and then Afghan who applied U.S. citizen in the Philippines. As he implied, these immigrants were animals. To make story short, the Philippine government has to be more vigilant and very strict about migrants from other countries too. The end result Will be inefficiency on our part.

The Filipinos became their worker, helper, good servant and slave but despite of that, most Filipinos were still caring, honest and loveable towards them. As for you, Mr. Donald Trump, you must know what you have to know about Filipinos before you conclude, you're a presidential candidate so you must have a concern not only on your countrymen but also on other person. Yes, there are other Filipinos who are involved in crimes but they did not do it because they are Filipinos but because they are people have their own will, they are having own decisions in life. To Mr.Trump, you should know first the history of the Filipinos. You should be research oriented so you will not be shamefaced! Read this blog, this will help you a lot! (a sort of advise)
Thanks be to God for informing us through this article!

  156. I agree what was said of bro. Eli, we admit that Filipinos are one of the poorest country. But we humble to say majority of Filipinos are kind and God-fearing. When we have visitors we are happy to welcome them and we known as hospitality.

Mr. Trumph, we understand that you said it because of the ignorance. Before you judged that way think many times for the sake of justice. Thanks for your consideration.

  157. Mr. trump can easily interpret whatever he wants because he is an arrogant and very malicious person. I'm afraid that the next president of the most powerful country in the world is not a man of himself. Americans and Filipinos are working for peace for the longest span of time and yet a person like mr. trump divides whatever we've started for the sake of peace.

  158. I felt a little pain on my chest as I internalize what Trump has said about the Filipinos. I just hope the Americans will open their eyes in choosing who really is qualified to be the president of a great nation.

  159. Donald Trump must not generalize Filipinos, and it's very insulting to be called as "animal" . Bro. Eli was right, we Filipinos are world-class citizens, in which some has been members of many professional organizations who contributed to many excellent projects, some even became part of the history, not just only in America but also in many parts of the globe.

Mr. Trump must really learn even just a little history about Filipinos!

  162. Thanks be to God for this informative blog. Mr. Trump should learn how to respect even the developing countries. And he is not capable of being a president because to be a president is not all about the intelligence you have but also the humanity inside your heart. Glory be to God :)

  163. Sometimes what you say doesn't define others, but defines who you are. We should think first before speaking. Because it only turns out how ignorant you are. Filipinos are being known for being a good and trustworthy people. You cannot judge the whole by few. I wonder what America would be if you'll be the next president.

  164. “We are letting people come in from terrorist nations that shouldn’t be allowed because you can’t vet them,” -- Mr. Donald Trump.

I agree to what Bro. Eli says about Mr. Donald Trump. I am somewhat sad and at the same time hurt to what I've read in news about what Mr. Trump says about Filipinos. Maybe he doesn't really know who we are. who Filipinos are. If Mr. Donald Trump doesn't know a bit of history about Filipinos how can he lead a country as big as USA? I am afraid that this will cause a big damage in friendship of the Philippines and the America.

We Filipinos are Hospitable. It’s one of the most popular traits of Filipinos. We are usually friendly and welcoming to our guests. This Filipino attribute makes the Philippines one of the most favorite destinations by tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of our nature and the friendliness of our people, not to mention we can also understand and speak English.

We can adot and resilent. Despite of all the calamities that struck our country, like the strong earthquake and Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) that devastated the central part of Visayas in 2013, Filipinos are persistent enough to get back on their feet, even without the solid help from the government. We can also adapt to any type of environment and mingle with any kind of people all over the world.

We are Resourceful and Creative. Filipinos are known for ingenuity. We are creative in many ways, whether it’s in art, music, science, technology and business. Some of our smartest countrymen can come up with a brilliant idea despite of poverty or lack of financial resources. We are also good in recycling trash and turn them into ingenious products.

We Filipinos are Faithful. The Filipinos are one of the most faithful people in the world. Whatever our religion is, we remain faithful and we don’t lose hope for a better tomorrow. Our faithfulness and hopefulness keep us kind, positive, peaceful and determined to achieve our goals no matter how impossible they may seem.

We are United in Bayanihan Spirit. We are in close relationship with our neighbors. In barangays and most subdivisions, the people in the neighborhood know each other, talk each other, help each other, and protect each other. Our communities are organized. We help each other to make our fiestas, festivals and other events lively and colorful to make sure that our visitors will have a great experience.

We Filipinos are Fmily-Oriented. Filipinos are willing to make big sacrifices just to make sure that their loved ones will have a good life. Our parents will do anything just to give us a brighter future. They are even willing to work in a foreign soil just to achieve such goal. And in return, we study hard and even sacrifice our personal love life just to fulfill the dreams of our parents for us. Furthermore, many Filipino breadwinners work extraordinarily hard just to earn money to support their family.

We Filipinos are known as one of the helpful people in the world. Finally, even if the Philippines is not a big and rich country, we still grant aids to other countries in need. We also send our brave soldiers to protect other nations from threats and to preserve world peace.

Originally, we are rich in good values, morals, attitudes and habits. They are the legacies that our ancestors have left us. Maybe some of these qualities are already fading and becoming rare among Filipinos. But we can still do something to preserve them. Let’s protect our moral treasures! Let’s start preserving them within ourselves. Then let’s serve as a model of these good habits to inspire our countrymen to do the same.

WE FILIPINOS ARE NOT ANIMALS NOR A TERROSITS Mr. Donald Trump.

I hope Mr. Donald Trump will read this blog of Bro. Eli to be enlighten and to know what Filipinos really are.

Thanks be To God for Bro. Eli and for the knowledge he shared to us.
To God Be The Glory :)

  165. Trump has no right to accuse the Philippines for that such kind of accusation because he don't even know who the Filipinos are. He rather live or stay in the Philippines for a while just to swallow his words.

  166. “Trump: Filipinos are terrorists and animals,” To be one of the candidate for being a president of the most influential country its a shame that you are speaking without proof and calling us "animals" is very insulting. In that way of speaking it is pretty obvious that you're innocent about Filipinos. Think before you speak.
"Donald Trump is not a world-class citizen, yet he speaks out of ignorance against the Filipinos!" I agree with this statement and it's obvious. I remember some of Americans compare Trump to Duterte, Duterte is way way apart from Trump and this blog is the proof. America and Philippines are great alliance and then it will just end because of you? It's a big NO.

May this blog reach Trump to enlighten his minds.

  168. Our preacher is awesome! I'm proud of Bro. Eli and am a proud Christian! I feel sorry for Trump, for it is a shame for a presidential candidate of a great nation to make such unintelligent remark. Anyway, just like what the author of this blog said, may God bless you, Mr. Trump.

  169. Precisely Brother Eli! I agree again to this blog considering the fact that we, Filipinos are not animals just like what Trump said. Are you even a man to make yourself as one of the candidates of the presidential election in the US? You do not know how hospitable and how kind the Filipinos are! I even remember that during Spanish era in the Philippines, the spaniards call the Manila as the "ever loyal city" to them. Its just Trump cannot understand what is the true meaning of being a Filipino! We can proudly say that we are Filipinos especially the real church is here and also the manpower in this country are one of the most trusted employees in different countries like US! He even not just a president yet but he acts like he own the US. Shame on you for saying those unethical words, just think before you speak. Yes its true that there are filipinos that are wrong but do not say that ALL filipinos are animals and terrorist! Know the history first becausethen judge! But even if you said it we pray for ur enlightenment also. Thanks be to God you make every Filipino be strong in their country. To God be the glory!

  170. mr. trump, we are not a terrorist that what you think about us. because filipinos is also known as hospitality. because the philippines has been hospitable home for americans for a hundred years. 171. I admired Mr. Donald Trump for being well known investor. I even read his books and dream of one day that I may see him personally but when I'm scanning the Daily Inquirer and I learned that Mr. Trump just threat the Filipino's as an animal, all my admiration for him boil down. I'm furiated. But when I read the blog of Mr. Controversy Extraordinary, Bro. Eli Soriano, on the last part that he give advise and even bless Mr. Trump, I felt awed. He's really something, an extraordinary man of God, a forgiving of such.
True enough Mr. Trump, before you became a president, you should review your History studies especially us, Filipino's. Remember not to generalized and take note that your country is where come some religious belief that so abhore but cleave and believe by innocent at heart.
I recommend to everyone that they should read this blog because it's not just timely and informative but will give you lesson on history, a history that a Filipino like me makes me proud of.

  173. People will recognize a politician on their contribution to humanity inside and outside their nation. Their kindness, generosity and public works.
TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP YOU ARE TRULLY RECOGNIZED not by goodworks but a vacuous and witless candidate. Philippines will now recognize you as a vacuous politician you dont even think about the contribution of Philippines as an ally to US. We even engage to war because of being an ALLY, even agree to build your Military Air Base in our COUNTRY. Philippines is a country of Generous, GOD fearing, well trusted and WORLD CLASS PEOPLE. We also have our own dialect and gestures just to show respect to other people.

For the BILLIONAIRE MR. DONALD TRUMP from a poor Filipino: LEARN THE HISTORY OF USA - PHILIPPINES ALLIANCE before submitting yourself to be the president of a great nation that America is, with an ever-loyal ally, the FILIPINOS!

Filipinos are courteous people. The children and young Filipinos will always use the words “po” and “opo” to show respect to someone who’s older or who’s in the higher position than them. We also do the “mano po” gesture (bringing the back of the hand of an elder to one’s forehead) as a sign of respect to our elders. Moreover, Filipino workers will always address their customers with “sir” or “ma’am” to show humility and honor to serve them.

We are in close relationship with our neighbors. In barangays and most subdivisions, the people in the neighborhood know each other, talk each other, help each other, and protect each other. 177. It was indeed a mistake and all lies about what Mr. Donald Trump said that the Filipinos are part of "terrorist nation". He doesn't have any rights to judge us by just the negative things that he knew. Infact there are lots of jew in our country who really enjoyed staying here and had experience the Filipino hospitality. I hope that he will understand and learn about us. Because nobody does it better when it comes to "FILIPINO HOSPITALITY".
