Baptism In the Name of Ellen G. White

One of the many erroneous doctrines of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) is rebaptism. It implies that rebaptism is “baptizing again” someone who was baptized already in their church.

I am not against baptizing someone in the true church—if such person was baptized in another church, and the one who officiated his baptism was not qualified to baptize in accordance with Biblical standards.

WHO CAN LEGITIMATELY OFFICIATE BAPTISM?

Guided by the Biblical standards that the law is good if used legitimately or lawfully, not everyone can officiate baptism to anyone!

I TIMOTHY 1:8
But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

I TIMOTHY 1:8 (NRSV)
Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it legitimately.

The laws of Christ or the laws for Christians took effect when the apostles received them after the ascension of the Lord.

THE ACTS 1:2
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

The laws of Moses ended in Christ on the cross!

COLOSSIANS 2:14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Christians will not be justified by the law of Moses!

THE ACTS 13:39
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

The laws of Moses were carnal ordinances destined to be done away!

HEBREWS 9:10
Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

The time of reformation is the effectiveness of the laws of Christ.

HEBREWS 7:12
For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

The result is: we have now the Old and the New testaments!

HEBREWS 8:13
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Baptism was not commanded in the Old Testament times!

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO BAPTIZE?

The Lord Jesus commanded the apostles to baptize.

MATTHEW 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The instruction is very clear, “teach all nations, baptizing them...” The persons commanded to baptize were also commanded to teach. And what are they going to teach?

“…all things whatsoever I have commanded you…” Therefore, he who has the capacity to teach all the commandments of Christ is the one who is authorized by Christ to officiate the true baptism.

Ministers of the SDA are not qualified to officiate true baptism because they do not teach people all the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ! One example is that they have replaced the law of Christ in “giving” by the law of tithing.

II CORINTHIANS 9:7
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Maybe you know the reason why they prefer tithing than voluntary giving!

The New Testament or New Covenant is very distinct from all laws in the past. Its focal point is the soul and the spirit – not the flesh only!

II CORINTHIANS 3:6-8
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of
8 Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

II CORINTHIANS 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

While John the Baptist had baptized the Jews who believed, when the law of Christ took effect, all Christians were baptized under the law of Christ!

I CORINTHIANS 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

The one “body” wherein both the Jews and Gentiles were “all” baptized is the church!

COLOSSIANS 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Even the Jews were baptized in Christ in the church! The allegation of Ellen G. White that some of those who were baptized by John the Baptist were not baptized in Christ is false!

(Seventh Day Adventist Church Manual 17th Edition p.43)
The following examples suggest that rebaptism may not be required. Evidently the instance of Acts 19 was a special one, for Apollos is reported to have received John’s baptism (Acts 18:25), and there is no record that he was rebaptized. Apparently some of the apostles themselves received John’s baptism (John 1:35-40), but there is no record of subsequent baptism.  [Emphasis ours]

Paul had recorded it but unfortunately was not understood by Ellen G. White:

I Corinthians 12:13
“…are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles…”

In the body or the true church, under the Christian law, there is only one baptism taught by the apostles to the believers!

EPHESIANS 4:4-5
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism…

Never did the apostles accord another baptism in the same church or jurisdiction. Erring members committing sins that are not worthy of death are being admonished and prayed for, to merit the forgiveness of God, not rebaptized.

GALATIANS 6:1
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

JAMES 5:19
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

I JOHN 5:16
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

These teachings of Christ and the apostles were ignored by Ellen G. White and commanded her own idea to the members of the SDA to rebaptize an erring member!

(Seventh Day Adventist Church Manual 17th Edition p.43) Apostasy and Rebaptism

Although apostasy clearly existed in the apostolic church (e.g., Heb. 6:4-6), Scripture does not address the question of rebaptism. Ellen G. White supports rebaptism when members have fallen away in apostasy and have lived in such a manner that the faith and principles of the church have been publicly violated. Then they should, in case of reconversion and application for church membership, enter the church as in the beginning, by baptism. (See pp. 199, 207.)

“The Lord calls for a decided reformation. And when a soul is truly reconverted, let him be rebaptized. Let him renew his covenant with God, and God will renew His covenant with him.”—Evangelism, p. 375. Clearly what is referred to here is not a recurring spiritual revival in a believer’s experience, but a radical change in life.

These teachings of Ellen G. White are against the Gospel of Christ! There is no pronouncement, even once, by Christ and the apostles to “baptize again” or rebaptize erring members! Poor SDA members! They were given by their prophetess a chance to fall away in apostasy or to err grievously, have a vacation for an indefinite time and then enter again in their church at will, “enter the church as in the beginning, by baptism” according to Ellen G. White.

HEBREWS 6:4-6
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

May God open your minds, poor members of this erroneous church that awaits for the seventh day!

Grammatically Speaking

12/17/2016 49 Comments

Grammatically: The word "adventist" is a noun.

The phrase "seventh-day" is an adjective (adjectival) phrase.

If the meaning of the word “adventist,” is a person that awaits for the arrival or coming into being of something (which certainly is the true meaning), therefore: the name, Seventh Day Adventist Church, means a church that awaits for the seventh day and not of the advent of Christ!

This fact is also true even if the original “Iglesia Adventista del Septimo Dia” is used!

Grammatically also:
It should be “cada septimo dia” because ever since Ellen White led this movement, some undetermined number of Saturdays have passed!

The Colossians were warned by the Apostle Paul about being judged for the non- observance of sabbaths and other carnal ordinances in meats and drinks which according to him are a shadow of the real thing that is Christ.

COLOSSIANS 2:16-17 (RSV)
16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a sabbath.
17 These are only a shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

COLOSSIANS 2:16-17(CODEX SINAITICUS IN ENGLISH TRANSLATION)
16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking or in respect of a feast or of a new moon or of sabbaths,
17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the body of Christ is the substance.

Note: The ordinances in the Old Testament are shadows of the real substance, the body of Christ.

These are carnal ordinances given to the Israelites and will tarry until the appointed time of reformation!

HEBREWS 9:10
Which stood only in meats and drinks, and diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

These simple Biblical truths were not understood by the leaders of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Their blasphemy against the Holy Spirit alleging that “Sunday worship” is a mark of the beast has caused a toll in their understanding of the Scriptures!

II CORINTHIANS 3:14-15
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

II CORINTHIANS 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

The facts are: There will be a time of reformation. The appointed time is the change of the priesthood.

HEBREWS 7:12
For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

From Moses to Christ!

HEBREWS 3:1-3
1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honor than the house.

It was prophesied even in the time of Moses that Christ will replace him in the priesthood.

DEUTERONOMY 18:18
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

The fulfillment of this prophecy is Christ.

THE ACTS 3:22, 20
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

The law of Moses was changed and the law of Christ took effect.

THE ACTS 13:39
And by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Until John were the law and the prophets.

LUKE 16:16
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Christ is the end of the law.

THE ROMANS 10:4-6
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

We are now under the Law of Christ and not under the Law of Moses!

I CORINTHIANS 9:20-21 (RSV)
20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews; to those under the law I became as one under the law — THOUGH NOT BEING MYSELF UNDER THE LAW — that I might win those under the law.
21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law — not being without law toward God but under the law of Christ — that I might win those outside the law.

The Law of Christ is the law that Paul taught to the first century Christians and not the Law of Moses.

GALATIANS 6:2
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the Law of Christ.

The collection of “tithes” is a part of the Levitical law.

HEBREWS 7:5
And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

Is this not the reason why Seventh-Day Adventist ministers cling to the Old Testament law of Moses? Tithing is not a Christian law! It was replaced when the priesthood was changed!

HEBREWS 7:12
For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

The replacement for tithing is:

II CORINTHIANS 9:7
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Let us test the spirits.

I JOHN 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

There is somewhere, somehow concealed deceit in insisting that the law of Moses must be observed, the gain and riches a pastor may get from tithes.

II CORINTHIANS 2:17 (RSV)
For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word; but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

May God bless you.

The Church that Awaits the Seventh-Day

12/10/2016 50 Comments

Apparently, they are not waiting for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as they claim. The name of their church means they are waiting for the arrival of the “seventh day.” Whether in grammar or in logic, the emphasis of the Adventists is on the seventh day or Saturday. Let us study their doctrines:

In their book, Seventh Day Adventists Believe, page 224:

The true church was founded by God in Christ.

HEBREWS 3:4
For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.

In the first century of our common era, how can a church founded by Ellen G. White be the true church when it was founded on a different date and setting? A woman like White has no biblical authority whatsoever to establish or even to lead the true church.

1 TIMOTHY 2:11-13
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
12 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
13 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

The Christian doctrine is crystal clear on this aspect that a woman cannot be a leader of the true church. A woman must be under subjection to a man who is under Christ: Just as Christ is under the authority of the Father, so is the woman under the authority of man.

1 CORINTHIANS 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

The Bible, even in prophecy, has warned God’s people that a woman leader will mislead God’s people.

ISAIAH 3:12
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

There are so many available evidences that will prove the errant teachings of White.

“Sunday worship is the mark of the beast.”

Obviously, White and her cohorts do not know the biblical meaning of worship. How can anybody, in his rightful mind, say that Sunday worship is the mark of the beast when the apostles assembled themselves to pray and worship God on Sunday?

JOHN 20:19
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

The Apostle Paul, together with other Christians, assembled, broke bread, prayed, and preached on a Sunday.

ACTS 20:7
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

The church in Corinth and in Galatia were commanded to do the collections on Sundays (logically, while they were gathered together).

I CORINTHIANS 16:1-3
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

In their vain effort to prove that Christians assembled themselves on Saturdays, SDAs have blasphemed the Holy Spirit of God who was present in all Christian gatherings when they claimed that Sunday worship is the mark of the beast.

The fact is we can worship God in any day of the week.

ACTS 2:46-47
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Sunday worship was done by Christians. It was only the malicious mind of White that could possibly conclude that Sunday worship is the mark of the beast.

Scrutinizing the World’s Greatest Religions

Not all great things are good or of God. (Revelation 17:5)

“And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

It is clear in the verse that this great Babylon is the mother of all abomination upon the earth.

There are gangs and illegal organizations that grow to be international, traversing boundaries of continents and countries, heavily guarded by armed authorities. It may be a paradox in this world wherein fundamental laws and mouths of powerful people condemn evil.

The irony is so clear: that while human society condemns evil in the open, evil grows to be “great” in the underworld.  The Bible has the explanation.  In Psalms 37:35 (ASV) it says,

“I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil. "

Why does it grow to be great? The answer: evil has the power to influence — even the good. (I Corinthians 15:33, ASV)

“Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”

The aggravating factor is that while most world’s leaders condemn evil by mouth, they approve or tolerate it by heart. (Romans 1:32)

“Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

Killing a person mercilessly — or mercifully — is against the scripture. (Matthew 5:44)

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

If we love our enemies, we will not kill them.  In fact, we are obliged to feed them when hungry and alleviate their thirst when thirsty. (Romans 12:20)

“Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”

The logic is clear:  if we can love our enemies by heart, the more we can love our relatives and friends — and even ourselves!  It is marvelous that while the Catholic Church professes to be the only true religion in the world, it has in its known history, records of murder and mutiny of heretics and innocent people.

Biblical records reveal that Christians were murdered, but were never murderers!  Murderers are of the devil. (John 8:44)

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

In the time of the Israelites, only condemned people were being put to death mercilessly. (Hebrew 10:28-29)

“He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”

It is God’s command to His people to execute His judgment unto these condemned people. (Deuteronomy 17:2, 6)

“2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.”

God is the giver of life... (Acts 17:28)

"For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. "

…and is the only one who has the right to take it back. (Deuteronomy 32:39)

“See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.”

The commandment, “thou shall not revenge for vengeance is mine,” is a vivid indication that even His people aggrieved by their enemies cannot take life by themselves.  How can now the “great” Catholic Church claim that they are of God and vindicate their crime biblically?

The order from their highest authorities to burn manuscripts of the Bible translated by Wycliffe in the language that can be understood by people, and to burn Tyndale alive for translating the Bible into English are acts proving the satanic power behind the Catholic Church.  The only credible truth to be believed and to be accepted wholeheartedly is the word of God. (John 17:17)

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

Whatever make-up or camouflage anybody may attempt to cover up the crimes they have committed against humanity is not acceptable to a thinking mind. The Mormons cannot deny their unchristian doctrine of bloodshedding:

But under certain circumstances there are some serious sins for which the cleansing of Christ does not operate, and the law of God is that men must then have their own bloodshed to atone for their sins. Murder, for instance, is one of these sins; hence we find the Lord commanding capital punishment. Thus, also, if a person has so progressed in righteousness that his calling and election has been made sure, if he has come to that position where he knows “by revelation and the spirit of prophecy, through the power of the Holy Priesthood” that he is sealed up unto eternal life (D. & C. 131:5), then if he gains forgiveness for certain grievous sins, he must “be destroyed in the flesh” and “delivered unto the buffetings of satan unto the day of redemption, saith the Lord God.” (Doctrines and Covenants 132:19-27)

The Christian era is very much different from the Mosaic times of God’s people.  While God uses His people to condemn people to death in the olden times, Christ commanded His disciples to be merciful even to the most bitter of their enemies. (Hebrews 9:10; 8:13; 7:12)

“Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.” “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” “For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.”

I may, for a while, say that those religions who do not know Christ (like Confucianism) are better than the Mormons that claim to be Christians and teaching cruel, unchristian doctrines.  (II Peter 2:21)

“For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.”

Having said this, I also disagree with Confucianism…  To be continued.

The Bible has the Highest Morality Code

11/26/2016 , 53 Comments

I do not just say that the Bible is a book of the highest standards of moral. It is what the book says and the book itself can prove it. There are so many books regarding moral that now exist in the world. But the Bible is above them all. And it can be proven by the teachings of the Bible.

We do not refute that there are other books that teach morality and there are other religious books regarded as sacred by those people who believe in them who teach also morality. But why do I say that the Bible is a book of the highest form of morality there is that exists on earth? First of all, the Bible is a book wherein the words of God are written. Of course not all the words in the Bible are the words of God, but there are specific words of God in the Bible, and those are very much discernable because the Bible says so. Whenever there is a quotation coming from God, you will be familiarized with the introductions of all the Bible writers before they write the sacred words of God: “And God said,” “Thus God said,” “God said,” “The Lord spake unto,” etc. So if we read closely, the Bible is a book that contains pronouncements from God Himself. This is proven by the Apostle Paul in Hebrews 1:1-2, which reads –

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;”

The verses clearly state that God has spoken unto the fathers in diverse manners and times and places and has spoken unto us in these last days by sending His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ, during His ministry on earth, said in the book of John 12:49 –

“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.”

So, the pronouncements of the Lord Jesus Christ are words of God. Now, how do we discern, how do we know that the word came from God? There is a very distinct quality of the word of God in the Bible. In the book of Proverbs 8:8-9 we read –

“All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.”

So there is nothing perverse, there is nothing wrong, no contradiction whatsoever with the words coming from the mouth of God. Another distinct quality of the word of God was preached by the Apostle Paul in I Thessalonians 2:3-4 –

“For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.”

We must, at this juncture, notice what the Apostle Paul said, that as they were trusted by God to speak, they speak. And what they speak is not of uncleanness, deceit or guile. Meaning, the words of the Lord are without deceit, without uncleanness or guile. They are simple, straightforward truth containing no contradictions whatsoever. Another quality of the word of God is in the book of Hebrews 4:12 –

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

On verse 13 it says –

“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”

Meaning, the word of God in the Bible is quick or alive; it is powerful, it is sharper than any two-edged sword, and it pierces to the hearts and thoughts. It knows the thoughts and hearts of men. And no human secret cannot be made manifest by the power of the word of God. By these qualities we will know if what we are reading in the Bible, or in any other book that was written on this earth, are the true words of God or not. The word of God works. In the book of I Thessalonians 2:13, the Apostle Paul said –

“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

It is clear in the verse that the word of God is not just like the word of man, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually works unto you that believe. So the power of the word of God is manifest unto the believers. It works among the believers. It does things to those that believe. And what the word of God can do is manifest among the believers. And what does it do? In the book of James 1:21 –

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”

The word of God is powerful to blot out all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness in a man. It renews a creature. The word of God has a power to renew; it regenerates and it is proven among those who believe. Let us read in the book of I Peter 1:23 –

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.”

The word of God is able to make a man a new being. It is an agent by which a man can be born again. It is likened in the Bible to a seed which is not corruptible. Nobody can corrupt it. Nothing can corrupt the word of God. After knowing all these things, let us analyze from the written word of God in the Bible the morality that is being taught by God’s words. In the Bible it says, in Matthew 19:5-6 –

“And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

I want you to please notice the word twain, or two. A man shall cleave to his wife, not wives [twain, only one partner]. And this is the highest standard of morality among married people. Let us read. Hebrews 13:4 says –

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”

So marriage is confined to only two contracting parties: the man and the woman, or the husband and the wife. There is no such thing in the Bible as marriage to more than one. It is not allowed. But there are religious books that say that you can get more than one wife. It’s directly contradicting the pure words of God in the Bible. And the very good example is the Book of Mormons. In their Doctrine and Covenants they have this to say:

According to Joseph Smith, which I will call a false prophet, this is a revelation that he received from God. I know that Joseph Smith has his god and his god is not the God of the Bible. I do not even want to call this group The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints. With the standards of morality in the Bible the Mormons cannot be considered saints. Pardon me for saying these words.

Saints in the Bible are those who obey the rules of sainthood. And one of those rules is to have only one wife. Having two wives will not make marriage honorable and the bed undefiled as Hebrew 13:4 says. Marrying more than one woman defiles the bed. Let us read in the book of Romans 7:2-3, it says –

“For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.”

So it is clear in the verse that if a woman, or in the case of the man also, marries another while the husband or the wife is living, the woman will be called an adulteress, likewise the man. It is clear in the book of Matthew 19:9 –

“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”

Marrying another when one of the parties is still living will fall into adultery. Of course there may be millions who believe in the Book of Mormons and nobody can question the integrity of these people. There are judges, there are lawyers and there are statesmen who belong to this group of people who believe that plurality of marriage, as taught in the Book of Mormons, is a true revelation from God. But it is not. It contradicts the word of God in the Bible. In the Bible, especially for bishops, or those that preach the gospel of Christ, only one wife is allowed. I Timothy 3:2 says –

“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

So if you get two wives then you are not blameless. Just like what happened to Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, the first two leaders of the Mormon Church that exists now in so many parts of the world. Brigham Young had 25 wives; 48 for Joseph Smith. They did not even abide by the revelation that they claim to have received from God. The revelation alleges that you can have only ten wives. But because of their greed for women and their lust, Joseph Smith had 48 and Brigham Young 25. Why do I say that the standard of morality in the Bible is far more excellent than any other book of religion, especially if we are going to compare it with the Book of Mormons? First, you have to know my intention. I’m not trying to destroy anybody’s reputation. But I have read that there was an apostle of the Mormon Church who claimed that their Book of Mormons is more correct and excellent than the Bible. This is what they have to say:

Although it was said before my time, before I was born, I’m concerned about this for my fellowmen. Why? This is a blasphemous statement because it places the words of Joseph Smith far more superior than the word of God, and that is blasphemy. God tells us the highest standard of morality in the life of a married person – to have only one wife. Joseph Smith tells us that it can be ten, especially if they are virgins. But Joseph Smith himself did not follow such revelation. He accumulated 48 wives and most of them were not virgins. They were wives of his co-ministers in their church. Imagine, is there morality in there? Let us ask a former Mormon member. What is the first problem they encounter when they abide by the wrong teachings of the Book of Mormons? Number one is jealousy.

We are informed by the Bible and it was mentioned earlier that the word of God is a discerner of truth. It pierces to the thoughts and to the heart of a man. What is jealousy according to the Bible? The Bible defines jealousy as wisdom from demons. It is satanic. Let us read in the book of Proverbs 6:34

“For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.”

Jealousy is a form of anger or rage that will spare not when it finds time for vengeance. History bears evidences and proofs of this powerful word of God. There are those who kill their husband or their wife because of jealousy. No Mormon member will say that they do not feel this human emotion, jealousy. And this is something that Mormons cannot hide. It was a confession from a former member of the Mormons. If you are under one roof and there are ten wives, you are wives of only one man, you will see the unfairness and the inequitableness of the treatment because no man can treat ten wives equitably and exactly fair. Jacob or Israel had only four wives but his love is more on Rachel than the other three. And there was jealousy also among the children of Israel. It’s the reason why Joseph the Dreamer was sold or maltreated by his eleven brothers, because of jealousy. Jealousy in polygamy is very rampant not only among the wives but also among the children. If you are one of the ten wives of your husband and each of you has five children then you will be a family of more than fifty. How can jealousy be prevented among those fifty coming from different wombs? So polygamy and the plurality of marriage give way for satan because jealousy came from satan. James 3:16, 15 (Revised Standard Version) says –

“For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. This wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish.”

If you must believe, it is better to believe in James the brother of our Lord Jesus Christ than to believe in the false prophets of the Mormons. Jealousy is devilish. It’s satanic and it is the product of the plurality of marriage or polygamy. Proving once again that what God have said is the utmost truth about human passions and human emotions. And if you have only one wife and living by the standards of God’s word, a loving husband to your wife, and a wife that subjects herself to her husband, Ephesians 5:23-28:

“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”

Then the family ties and values are intact and there is no place like home if the home is where the word of God and its morality dwell. Coming home to a home with women competing to be a desirable wife for only one man and with children competing to be heirs of the riches of only one man is just like coming home to hell.

You may comment and suggest and add to what has been laid in this article.

May God bless you.

To My Fellow Compatriots, Let's Forgive!

11/19/2016 , 97 Comments

I remember a part of the Gettysburg Address.

"Four scores and seven years ago our fathers brought forth to this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."

A part of a poetic literature of Shakespeare, and I quote -

"Drink to me only with thine eyes,
And I will pledge with mine;
Or leave a kiss but in the cup,
And I’ll not look for wine."

And a part of a famous Spanish poem of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal -

"Cada nota que el viento murmura,
cada rayo de luz en el sol,
cada flor en la verde llanura
es un himno a la gloria de Dios."
"Es un mundo una lira sublime
que modula en eterna canción, si suspira,
si canta o si gime, siempre,
siempre la gloria de Dios."

And a poetic farewell dedicated to a beloved country, a family and a presumed wife -

"¡Adiós, Patria adorada, región del sol querida,
Perla del mar de oriente, nuestro perdido Edén!
A darte voy alegre la triste mustia vida,
Y fuera más brillante, más fresca, más Florida,
También por ti la diera, la diera por tu bien...

Adiós, padres y hermanos, trozos del alma mía,
Amigos de la infancia en el perdido hogar,
Dad gracias que descanso del fatigoso día;
Adiós, dulce extranjera, mi amiga, mi alegría,
Adiós, queridos seres, morir es descansar.

I am a witness - a living witness - to what is happening now to my beloved country. Political chaos, discontent in almost all regimes of government, decisions of the highest court being questioned by no less than members of the legislative branch of government, a seamlessly never ending dispute between supporters of former President Ferdinand Marcos and the Yellow Army of the EDSA Revolution, and so on.

I remember an essay as a young man in a declamation contest wherein I won the highest award goes like this. That was several decades ago and yet how very much relevant today. It can only mean there had been no changes in the heart of man, in the heart of the Filipino.

Twenty years ago,
After I have shed the last drop of my blood
In the gory battlefields of Bataan and Corregidor
I faced my Creator,
With an overwhelming pride in my heart.

“God,” I said,
“I have done my share,” “
I have sacrificed my life so that my people
may live in lasting peace.”

Now I stood once more at the presence of God,
“Go back,” He said,
“Look at your people in your country today,”
“See how they have made a mockery of what you have died for,”
“See how they have destroyed the very essence of democracy.”

And so, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have to come back,
Not as a Living mass, but as a Ghost,
and this is my Story.

My Father, my Mother and I
Were living peacefully in a small mountain farm,
Suddenly, a group of Japanese soldiers swooped down on us,

My Father and I, were hog-tied,
And before our shocked eyes,
My mother was abused, and was raped…

After their sadistic thirst was quenched,
They killed her in cold impunity,
And abandoned her mangled, bloody and lifeless body in the dust.

The next thing I knew,
I was lifted up by a group of kind Filipino Soldiers,
They brought me back to their camp alone, Yes alone,
For my father had already died.

The next thing I did when I felt strong enough,
Was to ask for a gun,
And began fighting the enemy,
Not only to avenge the death of my Father and Mother,

But also to die, if need be for,
A free, and a democratic way of life.

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen,
There in Bataan I fought,
And there in Bataan, I died.

That was 20 long years ago,
Now, as I look around me
I see my people fighting and killing one another,

I see them raping our own women,
Butchering our own children,
And destroying our own homes,

What possible power,
Could have deprived them of this decency,
That they would now violate
The sanctity of our own women

What possible power,
Could have twisted the hearts and the minds of our people,
That they will now fight and kill each other.

In sheer desperation,
I tried to blackout all of these things from my mind,
But they all come back to me in all its painful
And brutal vividness,

I hastened them to my Creator and cried out,
“God, forgive them, for they know not, what they do.”

Let me get some excerpts of this essay and relate them to what is happening now. I may sound monotonous to my readers, but as it is, I'm asking myself some questions.

Can we not appreciate what is good? Can we not forgive? Can we not cease from the notion of always blaming others for the failures and guilt of our society?

Our heroes fought in Bataan against our oppressors and colonizers. What bothers me most is, nowadays, Filipinos are the very oppressors of their own compatriots. Can’t we love each other?

And while some have the tendency to join the camp of the enemies of our beloved nation, may God enlighten the lamp of patriotism within us and the love He had imparted to us as a people.

God bless the Philippines.

What is the True Meaning of Life?

11/12/2016 101 Comments

I just have one question for now, and I’m hoping for a well-explained answer, either biblically or logically founded.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE?

From: Aleihs Tazzy

Dear Aleihs,

If we are to take the meaning supplied by most dictionaries, we will utterly be misled.

life [līf]

(plural lives [līvz])

noun

1. existence in physical world: the quality that makes living animals and plants different from dead organisms and inorganic matter.

The dictionary defines life as the physical existence of humans and other living organisms. This is not the truth (the whole truth)!

There are now more than six billion living people on earth. If we go back to the early 19th century, there were only about six hundred million; earlier, few hundred millions; further, few millions, and if we continue to travel back in time, we will end up finding only two human lives on earth. The inevitable conclusion is that before human beings and other forms of life came into existence, life did exist. It came from the original source of life — God.

ACTS 17:26-28
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also His offspring.

In the 19th century global population grew by only 600 million, but in the 20th century it grew by 4.4 billion. There are twice as many people today as there were in 1960. Even with a continued decline in fertility rates, the United Nations projects a population of 8.9 billion in 2050. With current trends, world population isn’t expected to stabilize until after 2080. UNFPA ’99

http://www.overpopulation.org/faq.html

So, life existed even before the physical world and human life came into existence. The Bible calls it the life of God.

JOHN 1:4
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

EPHESIANS 4:18
Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

The question being asked to me is “What is the meaning of life?” The biblical answer is: life is the cause of existence of everything there is; and the purpose by which it was made to exist.

The life we have now on earth is both temporal and eternal. Our physical being will cease to exist when the spirit that sustains physical life leaves the body.

JAMES 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

The spirit, after leaving the body, returns to the origin of life.

ECCLESIASTES 12:7
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

We cannot understand the true meaning of life without understanding its purpose. A life lived not with its purpose was lived in vain and wasted.

ECCLESIASTES 6:12
For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

A life spent for the purpose by which it was meant for is a meaningful life.

ACTS 20:24
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

A life must be lived and be given willingly by somebody who understands its purpose.

MARK 8:35
For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.

God gave us life for us to spend in service to Him, with our entire being and faculties.

LUKE 10:27
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

The end of our earthly life and existence is the beginning of the next phase of life, which is life eternal, after the resurrection.

I CORINTHIANS 15:36, 42-43, 51-54
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Therefore, the true meaning of life is existence and awareness without end, without death, misery, and troubles.

REVELATION 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Life is existence without end or death being lived with its eternal purpose just like the life of God, the source of temporary life on earth.

EPHESIANS 3:11
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

Sincerely in Christ,

Bro. Eli Soriano

Shutting the Mouth: Let us Pray for Peace

11/05/2016 , 63 Comments

The series of events and killings happening in the Philippines awakened my concern, the latest of which is the killing of surrenderee Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. inside the Baybay, Leyte Sub-Provincial Jail.

Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa killed in ‘firefight’ inside jail

Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. was killed in a “firefight” after allegedly resisting arrest at the Baybay, Leyte Sub-Provincial Jail, early Saturday morning.

A firefight between Espinosa and Raul Yap and the operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Northern Leyte (CIDG8) resulted in the deaths of the two detainees, a police incident report said.

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/841271/rolando-espinosa-killed-in-jail

Citizens had been warned of the extent and depth of the corruption networks involved in illegal drugs in our country. Some believe that a prime witness like Espinosa ought to have been put under SAF custody in Camp Sto. Domingo, or even under the Marines in a Marine camp.

Considering the time 4AM, not so many are awake to lend a helping hand. The report of what happened is incredible!

It is expected that the culprits will work as hard as possible to cover up the murder of these two helpless men in prison! I say "helpless" because they were behind bars, without any weapon.

But there are inevitable possibilities. They may have been silenced by whoever had interest in their testimonies about the things they know of the drug trade wherein they were involved.

To judge that it is the government that planned the "extra judicial killing," doesn't merit logical reasoning. Again, EJK is normally attributed against operatives of the government under a blanket command to purge.

Who will benefit if Espinosa’s mouth is shut forever? The people in his blue book? Among the two groups of Police Force, who are to take the blame? The CIDG serving the search warrant? The Warden and his guards?

Some policemen who according to the President are also in the long list of drug personalities can be used as instruments of some unseen power. These are possibilities. But let us wait for evidence to come in.

What has happened has happened. No human can bring back the lives of these people who cannot be called victims; nor can they be called innocents. We have to wait and see. (Can this be called crime? Can this be called justice?)

Christians may be dwellers in a country of injustice, and corrupt government like in Rome, but there is a way to live in peace. Let us pray!

I TIMOTHY 2:1-2
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

In Rome, it was emphasized by Paul to Christians living there to be subject to authorities.

THE ROMANS 13:1-3
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

With corruption in the Romans' system of government, what is normal is that authorities are not "terrors to good works, but to the evil." So we have to pray for authorities to be more leaning on the side of what is good and not evil.

Let us pray unceasingly.

I THESSALONIANS 5:17
Pray without ceasing.

With us, we are facing difficult situations in our country. May the love of country and patriotism rise up in us. We need to pray for the Philippines as we need the Lord's wisdom and blessing. In the past, we have faced many difficult times. It is prayer that will see us through. Let us invite the intervention of the Almighty for our beloved country.

Let us pray.

All Souls' Day and All Saints' Day in Prophecy?

Biblical prophecies are meant to be fulfilled without fail. The fulfillment proves the existence of the God who foretold them.

ISAIAH 46:9-10
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Only the true God has the power to see the future. No human being by his own intelligence equipped with the most modern technological know-how can predict exactly what will happen in the future.

PROVERBS 27:1(Revised Standard Version)
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

God’s prophecy is revealed through the mouth of His prophets, like the Lord Jesus Christ.

DEUTERONOMY 18:18
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

If in any occasion a pretentious prophet utters prophecies in the name of the Lord and does not come to pass, such is a false prophet!

DEUTERONOMY 18:22
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Conversely, the fulfillment of an uttered prophecy is the proof that the prophet who said it is sent of God. With this measure many prophets now are the fulfillment of the prophecy about the advent of many false prophets!

MATTHEW 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I JOHN 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Prophets sent by God prophesied that many will prefer to listen to false prophets and their fables:

II TIMOTHY 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The word fable in the Greek language is μῦθος (muthos) which means myth or fiction.

moo’-thos

Perhaps from the same as G3453 (through the idea of tuition); a tale, that is, fiction (“myth”): – fable.

* (Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries, Dictionaries of Hebrew and Greek Words taken from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance by James Strong, S.T.D., LL.D., 1890.)

The doctrine of limbo, purgatory, rosary, sign of the cross, mass, the infallibility of the popes, All Souls’ Day, All Saints’ Day and many more are neither Biblical nor sensible! These words, even the very idea they convey, are not Biblical. Nowhere in the Bible can we find the word limbo, purgatory, rosary, mass, sign of the cross, pope, All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day.

If Catholic popes speak infallibly (ex-cathedra) as they claim, why is it that the present pope declared that limbo, which was part of the teachings of all previous popes, is non-existent?

Whether they declare it or not, not only is the doctrine of limbo non-existent. The apostles have not mentioned anything about All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day! The first century Christians did not celebrate a feast for the dead or for the souls in purgatory. Neither can the celebration of “All Hallows Eve” or “Halloween” be found in the Bible!

The Christian faith must be based on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ – no more, no less. These teachings were written down on the pages of the Bible by eyewitnesses.

I JOHN 1:1-4
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Our learning must not go beyond what was written.

I CORINTHIANS 4:6(Revised Standard Version)
I have applied all this to myself and Apol’los for your benefit, brethren, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.

What was written was commanded by the Lord to be written.

I CORINTHIANS 14:37
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

Any article of faith not written in the Bible falls into fable! Not found in the Bible are limbo, purgatory, novena, rosary, mass, sign of the cross, All Saints’ Day, All Souls’ Day as in the following:

LIMBO

PURGATORY

In the writings of Augustine (died, 430 A.D.) the doctrine of purgatory was first given definite form, although he himself expressed doubt about some phases of it. It was, however, not until the sixth century that it received formal shape at the hands of Gregory the Great, who held the papal office from 590 to 604 A.D.

The doctrine about purgatory was proclaimed an article of faith in 1439, by the Council of Florence, and was later confirmed by the Council of Trent, in 1548.
The Eastern Orthodox Church, incidentally, does not teach the doctrine of purgatory.

NOVENA

The novena in honour of St. Francis Xavier, known as the “Novena of Grace”, originated as follows: in 1633 Father Mastrilli, S.J., was at the point of death as a result of an accident, when St. Francis Xavier, to whom he had great devotion, appeared to him and urged him to devote himself to the missions of the Indies. Father Mastrilli then made a vow before his provincial that he would go to the Indies if God spared his life, and in another apparition (3 Jan., 1634) St. Francis Xavier exacted of him a renewal of this promise, foretold his martyrdom, and restored him to health so completely that on the same night Father Mastrilli was in a condition to write an account of his cure, and the next morning to celebrate Mass at the altar of the saint and to resume his community life. He soon set out for the Japanese missions where he was martyred, 17 October, 1637. The renown of the miracle quickly spread through Italy, and inspired with confidence in the power and goodness of St. Francis Xavier, the faithful implored his assistance in a novena with such success that it came to be called the “novena of grace”. This novena is now made publicly in many countries from 4 to 12 March, the latter being the date of the canonization of St. Francis Xavier together with St. Ignatius.

ROSARY

MASS

Sacrifice of the Mass

Catholic Encyclopedia

The word Mass (missa) first established itself as the general designation for the Eucharistic Sacrifice in the West after the time of Pope Gregory the Great (d. 604), the early Church having used the expression the “breaking of bread” (fractiopanis) or “liturgy” (Acts 13:2, leitourgountes); the Greek Church has employed the latter name for almost sixteen centuries.

SIGN OF THE CROSS

ALL SAINTS' DAY

ALL SOULS' DAY

All of the preceding doctrines and articles of faith are the embodiment of the fulfillment of the prophecy about the advent of false Christs and false prophets that will turn the ears of their followers from truth to fables!

All these teachings come to the mind of Catholic mentors many hundreds of years after the death of the apostles, which simply means that they are not apostolic.

II TIMOTHY 4:4
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

If there is anyone who can cite verses to prove these teachings are Biblical, you are most welcome.
