All Souls' Day and All Saints' Day in Prophecy?

Biblical prophecies are meant to be fulfilled without fail. The fulfillment proves the existence of the God who foretold them.

ISAIAH 46:9-10
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Only the true God has the power to see the future. No human being by his own intelligence equipped with the most modern technological know-how can predict exactly what will happen in the future.

PROVERBS 27:1(Revised Standard Version)
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

God’s prophecy is revealed through the mouth of His prophets, like the Lord Jesus Christ.

DEUTERONOMY 18:18
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

THE ACTS 3:22, 20
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

If in any occasion a pretentious prophet utters prophecies in the name of the Lord and does not come to pass, such is a false prophet!

DEUTERONOMY 18:22
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Conversely, the fulfillment of an uttered prophecy is the proof that the prophet who said it is sent of God. With this measure many prophets now are the fulfillment of the prophecy about the advent of many false prophets!

MATTHEW 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

I JOHN 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Prophets sent by God prophesied that many will prefer to listen to false prophets and their fables:

II TIMOTHY 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The word fable in the Greek language is μῦθος (muthos) which means myth or fiction.

moo’-thos

Perhaps from the same as G3453 (through the idea of tuition); a tale, that is, fiction (“myth”): – fable.

* (Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries, Dictionaries of Hebrew and Greek Words taken from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance by James Strong, S.T.D., LL.D., 1890.)

The doctrine of limbo, purgatory, rosary, sign of the cross, mass, the infallibility of the popes, All Souls’ Day, All Saints’ Day and many more are neither Biblical nor sensible! These words, even the very idea they convey, are not Biblical. Nowhere in the Bible can we find the word limbo, purgatory, rosary, mass, sign of the cross, pope, All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day.

If Catholic popes speak infallibly (ex-cathedra) as they claim, why is it that the present pope declared that limbo, which was part of the teachings of all previous popes, is non-existent?

Whether they declare it or not, not only is the doctrine of limbo non-existent. The apostles have not mentioned anything about All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day! The first century Christians did not celebrate a feast for the dead or for the souls in purgatory. Neither can the celebration of “All Hallows Eve” or “Halloween” be found in the Bible!

The Christian faith must be based on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ – no more, no less. These teachings were written down on the pages of the Bible by eyewitnesses.

I JOHN 1:1-4
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Our learning must not go beyond what was written.

I CORINTHIANS 4:6(Revised Standard Version)
I have applied all this to myself and Apol’los for your benefit, brethren, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.

What was written was commanded by the Lord to be written.

I CORINTHIANS 14:37
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

Any article of faith not written in the Bible falls into fable! Not found in the Bible are limbo, purgatory, novena, rosary, mass, sign of the cross, All Saints’ Day, All Souls’ Day as in the following:

LIMBO

PURGATORY

In the writings of Augustine (died, 430 A.D.) the doctrine of purgatory was first given definite form, although he himself expressed doubt about some phases of it. It was, however, not until the sixth century that it received formal shape at the hands of Gregory the Great, who held the papal office from 590 to 604 A.D.

The doctrine about purgatory was proclaimed an article of faith in 1439, by the Council of Florence, and was later confirmed by the Council of Trent, in 1548.
The Eastern Orthodox Church, incidentally, does not teach the doctrine of purgatory.

NOVENA

The novena in honour of St. Francis Xavier, known as the “Novena of Grace”, originated as follows: in 1633 Father Mastrilli, S.J., was at the point of death as a result of an accident, when St. Francis Xavier, to whom he had great devotion, appeared to him and urged him to devote himself to the missions of the Indies. Father Mastrilli then made a vow before his provincial that he would go to the Indies if God spared his life, and in another apparition (3 Jan., 1634) St. Francis Xavier exacted of him a renewal of this promise, foretold his martyrdom, and restored him to health so completely that on the same night Father Mastrilli was in a condition to write an account of his cure, and the next morning to celebrate Mass at the altar of the saint and to resume his community life. He soon set out for the Japanese missions where he was martyred, 17 October, 1637. The renown of the miracle quickly spread through Italy, and inspired with confidence in the power and goodness of St. Francis Xavier, the faithful implored his assistance in a novena with such success that it came to be called the “novena of grace”. This novena is now made publicly in many countries from 4 to 12 March, the latter being the date of the canonization of St. Francis Xavier together with St. Ignatius.

ROSARY

MASS

Sacrifice of the Mass

Catholic Encyclopedia

The word Mass (missa) first established itself as the general designation for the Eucharistic Sacrifice in the West after the time of Pope Gregory the Great (d. 604), the early Church having used the expression the “breaking of bread” (fractiopanis) or “liturgy” (Acts 13:2, leitourgountes); the Greek Church has employed the latter name for almost sixteen centuries.

SIGN OF THE CROSS

ALL SAINTS' DAY

ALL SOULS' DAY

All of the preceding doctrines and articles of faith are the embodiment of the fulfillment of the prophecy about the advent of false Christs and false prophets that will turn the ears of their followers from truth to fables!

All these teachings come to the mind of Catholic mentors many hundreds of years after the death of the apostles, which simply means that they are not apostolic.

II TIMOTHY 4:4
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

If there is anyone who can cite verses to prove these teachings are Biblical, you are most welcome.

Bitterly Disparate: the Philippines-US Equation

For more than a century, the relation that existed between the Philippines and the USA cannot be considered as fairly mutually fulfilling. Those more than one hundred years of friendship and relationship in all aspects of “mutual interest” cannot be considered perfectly fair.

I have high respect for Americans. One of my aunts was married to an American officer. My cousins, three of them, doctors of medicine of high caliber are US citizens. Many decades ago, my nephews were also American citizens.

I am especially grateful that the Americans, when they have brought the gospel or the Bible in my homeland, made the Philippines get the reputation of being the "only Christian country in Asia." Of course, the Catholic Church was the first to preach Christianity in the Philippines but a quick look of the history of Catholicism in the Philippines easily proves that what they brought in my country is fake Christianity.

The coming of the Americans moderated some doctrines of Christianity, not taught by the Catholic Church. Even so, most religions that came from America are full of doctrinal errors. My basis to say that American Christianity is also doubtful and erroneous is that true Christianity must embrace all the teachings of Christ.

MATTHEW 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

In these pronouncements, "all things whatsoever I have commanded you," it can easily be proven that American Christianity is wanting and doubtful.

There are many things I like among Americans; their technology, their inventions, movies, chocolates, and canned fruits. I have maintained such admiration and respect for the American people until I became a senior citizen. At age 59 I was granted a US Visa to visit our brethren in the US and conduct some Bible Expositions among some American friends and communities. Thank God, local churches were established in the US afterwards.

When I had to come back to the US to conduct more Bible Expositions at the invitation of members, I was denied renewal of my visa. When a consul in the US Embassy in Singapore arrogantly and sarcastically answered my question, "Why am I denied, Ma’am?" "It's not our obligation to divulge to you the reason," was the answer.

There were at least five Filipinos also, some of them crying, who were denied by the same consul. I later found out that I was denied a visa because of the doing of a member of the Iglesia ni Manalo who worked at the Department of Justice. Allegedly, I must be put in the Watch list of the Interpol because of a rape case filed against me by the Iglesia ni Manalo. When my lawyer, Attorney Frank Chavez, a former solicitor general of the Philippines, questioned the issuance of the watch list over against me, the same official balked from imposing the order placing me in the Watch list of the Interpol, but damage had already been done! Although the DOJ withdrew the order, it was already flashed to all countries.

I have forgotten that incident and remembered it only when President Rodrigo Duterte said in China, in a speech, that he was denied a visa to the US. Because of that bitter experience with an American consul, I did not want anymore to apply for a US visa, much like President Duterte, who said he will never be returning to the US. Not while he is President.

“I will not go to America anymore. We will just be insulted there,” Duterte said. “So time to say goodbye my friend.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/philippine-president-duterte-us-separation_us_58089881e4b0180a36e9646f

At this point I want to say, it is unfair that while Americans can come to the Philippines without visa, it is not so with the Filipinos who must provide theirs. Pity these Filipinos who can hardly produce 7,000 pesos for a visa queuing at the American Embassy in Manila waiting for 5 - 6 hours to be called for interview, paying the required fee, and ending up being denied - most of the time sarcastically.

If we are really friends with America, as President Duterte asked, why not welcome us as we welcome them? The one hundred years of friendship was not able to achieve this. What is the problem really? Maybe one way or the other, a party is protecting its own interest, and in this supposed equation, America is the greater.

The Gospel says, discrimination is an unchristian act.

JAMES 2:1-4
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

Isn’t President Duterte right? I do not want to say "yes," as I do not want to say "no."

To my critics, who disagree with this blog, I just want to tell you, you do not know Brother Eli.

For the Sake of Fairness and Logic

10/15/2016 , 54 Comments

A common expression "for the sake of" invites a deeper thinking and reasoning. There are statements that are introduced by "for the sake of......." that should be looked into for that requires sacrifice. "For the sake of peace" or "to buy peace" sometimes entails forgiveness, understanding, leniency, letting go, etc. The Bible tells us to practice sacrifice of pride to attain something divine or human.

I CORINTHIANS 6:7
Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

The expression "to err is human but to forgive divine" suggests the letting go of pride and self sacrifice. Actually, biblically speaking, to err is not only human because even angels with superior strength and understanding have erred.

II PETER 2:4, 11
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

Pioneer in committing all errors was the angel who turned to be satan. Satan means arch enemy of God.

ISAIAH 14:12-14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Biblically speaking, not only humans do err but even angels. But then not forgiving doesn't necessarily mean the act is not divine for God did not forgive the angels that sinned against Him.

II PETER 2:4
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

Not all transgressions or sins are pardonable. There are sins when committed intentionally do not merit mercy.

HEBREWS 10:26-27
26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

I have read a recent article written by a Catholic Filipino in the US, particularly in the state of California, saying that what is happening in the Philippines is evil because of extra judicial killings. Almost everyone seems to be recklessly using the term "extra judicial killings" to condemn the present government.

Which is more evil, criminals are being killed or criminals are being cuddled?

THE ROMANS 1:32
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Have these Catholic priests and members bravely spoken also in the past against these drug perpetrators?

What is noteworthy is, why are these self-righteous talkatives silent when drug addicts killed their young, their parents, their relatives and even authorities, who sacrifice their lives to arrest these criminals, that wrought havoc not only to the entire nation but also to the entire world? And why are all the criminalities associated with drugs not as exposed and highlighted as they are now. Must it mean that there are those who pay the media to sensationalize the alleged "extra judicial killings" to unseat Duterte?!!!

And must it mean also that the "silence" that have passed and that the ongoing "noise" now are orchestrated by these same people playing their instruments under the baton of those who profit most in drugs?!!! A thinking mind (not Dutertards), I believe, must be asking these questions.

All these I ask is "for the sake of justice and fairness" now that the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights have absolved the government of President Duterte on extra judicial killings,

Rody absolved by Senate panel on killings – Palace
By Christina Mendez (The Philippine Star) | Updated October 16, 2016 - 12:00am

Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said the Senate committee on justice and human rights, chaired by Sen. Richard Gordon, has cleared Duterte of any liability in extralegal killings when it wrapped up its probe on Thursday.

“The recently concluded investigation by the Senate panel on alleged summary executions of crime suspects absolved President Duterte of any involvement in the killings when he was still mayor and now that he is President,” Abella said.

The Senate’s official report will be presented tomorrow, Abella said.

“There is no proof that the killings were state-sponsored,” Abella quoted Gordon as saying.

I expect to hear more attacks and noises, both internationally and locally, against the present government. I am reiterating this to those stupid critics of my blog that I am not in defense of President Duterte! May your stupidity be known unto all men.

Let us have a comparison. Which do you prefer or classify as good news?

1. Manufacturers and suppliers of illegal drugs being killed because they resisted arrest; or

2. A son being killed by his father because his father is a drug addict; or

3. A son killed by his mother because his mother is a drug addict; or

4. A husband killing his own wife because her husband is a drug addict; or

5. A religious group cuddling drug peddlers because of money;

The choice is yours.

May your conscience guide you.

The God Who Punishes the Sins of Disobedience

10/08/2016 67 Comments

As it appears, God is expected by people, who are not learned in the way of the Bible, to stop criminality and the vicious cycle of corruption - without any move from people involved.

But aren’t people the cause of moral evil – who do drugs, crimes, and corruption?

In the case of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte who won the elections on a platform of stopping drugs, criminality, and corruption, in his moments of ruminating the complexity of problems besetting his fight, he speaks out his mind and the subconscious asks questions.

But he is not alone. When evil comes to a point wherein man finds himself helpless, he asks, "Where is God? Why all this senseless trouble in the world?" This may come to a point of doubting His very existence.

It is because we expect that God is good and that He can destroy evil. But He cannot simply do things for man as in destroying the evil around without sacrificing his intentions for mankind.

Here are the truths in the Bible:

1. God caused the existence of everything that is good!

THE ROMANS 1:19-20
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

In the original state of creation, everything was "very good!"

GENESIS 1:31
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

2. God gave man the most wonderful power he has: the freedom of choice.

JOB 34:4 (RSV)
Let us choose what is right; let us determine among ourselves what is good.

Except where such act may prevent others from exercising their freedoms, we have the right to exercise our own in any manner we choose. But we have to be more than robots to enjoy what’s free to do, like having one’s choice of food, one’s preference for tastes, for color, for smell, and even for the person to love like a husband or a wife.

The freedom to choose or "free will" was given by the Creator; we have the power to choose between good and evil, to some extent that there are those who think it is all right to disobey God.

DEUTERONOMY 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

The caring God, our Creator, even emphasized, "Therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live." But the adventurous prefer to choose the opposite of God's will! This is where every corruption and criminality begins.

II THESSALONIANS 2:11-12
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The reason why people believe in delusions and lies and evil is their utter disregard for truth! This resulted in a host of criminalities that beset the human race!

THE ROMANS 1:28-32
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

What aggravates evilness is people's disregard for capital punishment. The Bible states in verse 32, "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

In other words, punishment (whatever it is) is expected for such acts. Punishment as defined is “the infliction or imposition of a penalty as retribution for an offense.” According to behavior experts, punishment is an important tool in dealing with dangerous behaviors that have to be stopped. Although God Himself is a punisher, He has given government the authority to determine what punishment is due to its citizens for any corresponding crime.

ROMANS 13:1
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

It is the sense of allowing evil and having pleasure in evil that multiply evil in human society! And evil would progressively continue within a society with such permissive disposition.

II TIMOTHY 3:13
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

In all these, God must not be blamed or doubted! We know by conscience that those to be blamed are the leaders allowing evil!

Meanwhile, the difference with God and man is that the former does not execute judgment immediately, giving a sinner the chance to repent.

II PETER 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Although there are evil people who benefit from God's longsuffering, evil people take advantage of the time to do more evil, not understanding God's goodness! Instead of taking the opportunity to change, they take the time to extend their evil works.

ECCLESIASTES 8:11
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

THE ROMANS 2:4
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

So what about the doubt of God's existence because of the evil that now besets human society? A wise student of the Bible would consider this: Things happen as living testimonies that what the word of God has been saying all along is true. First, He exists. That is an undeniable truth. Second, if people will not believe and follow Him, all evil shall abound!

DEUTERONOMY 28:58-68
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.
63 And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to naught; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spoke unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

As stated in these verses, the result of not obeying God’s words are plagues, diseases, sickness, death, a scattering among nations, having to serve other gods, even wood and stone; and being a stranger in other lands where there is constant sorrow and fear. In many forms, these are observed everywhere and to some extent are being experienced by many – including Filipinos.

In sum: Where is God? He is existing. The good God is existing but evil abound due to man’s rebellion: that of not observing his words. Man suffers from his own making.

Is God to be blamed for society with worsening ills? No. They who allow evil to flourish are to blame. They who allow the pleasure of sin.
