Why the Best Education is Available in the Bible

1/07/2017 , , 62 Comments

Education is defined in the dictionary as an activity of acquiring knowledge through instruction or teaching. The Bible in 2 Timothy 3:15-16 says,

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

The Bible has in its pages doctrines, corrections, instructions in righteousness, and the best knowledge needed in educating any man. It will not come short of any good thing needed to make a man perfect before the sight of God.

The infallible teacher is the Holy Spirit of God who knows the whole truth as was written in John 14:26, which states,

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

The Bible can teach knowledge and wisdom ahead of their discovery by man. We know in the Book of Isaiah, written 600 years before Christ and almost two millennia before the theories of Copernicus and other scientists came out, that the Earth is round and spherical in shape.

Even without a telescope, the stars can be seen by the naked eye, and it is very hard to number them. In Genesis 22:17, God told Abraham that his descendants will be as many as the stars he can see in heaven. With a telescope, we can see more than Abraham has seen less than 3,000 years ago. The Earth now is populated by around 7 billion people, thus, proving that the word of God teaches us the truth about astronomy and mathematics. Abraham couldn’t see as many as a billion stars with his naked eyes; but several billions can be seen with our telescopes now, thus, proving the authenticity of God’s pronouncement in the Bible.

God’s wisdom is compared in the Bible as high as the heaven, and man’s is as low as the earth’s. In Isaiah 55:8-9, it says:

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Until now, even with the advent of sophisticated tools of Science, man cannot know exactly how high the heavens are from the earth. Guesses were made by the Greek thinker Thales and his pupil, Anaximander, regarded as the father of astronomy. Pythagoras, Ptolemy, Copernicus and many others also had theories about the universe and its extent, but they all, in so many points, have failed—proving, once more, what the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 8:17, thus,

“Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.”

I must emphasize that what Solomon said are things under the sun. He said, “…all the work of God…under the sun.” There are a few, very few, that man had accidentally discovered but not all, proving that up to now the said pronouncement of the Bible stands. And, if the work under the sun cannot be fully understood by man, much more those things beyond the sun.

Does anybody want to be knowledgeable of God’s unfailing wisdom? The Bible can educate us with knowledge far more advanced than the knowledge accumulated throughout the centuries by all of humanity combined. 1 Corinthians 1:25 states:

“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

The wisdom we can learn from the Bible and the knowledge we can acquire from it are far better than the guesses, temporary and partial knowledge of man. Why temporary and partial? The belief of scientists five decades ago has changed very recently. Sometime in the past, scientists believed that protein is food for the brain, but now, they say that sugar is the food for the brain. In Genesis 2:16 it says:

“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.”

Adam was an intelligent man. He named all the animals and birds that existed in his time. We are sure that they were more in number than the animals at present because a great number of them are now extinct. Genesis 2:19-20 says:

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.”

Adam’s intelligence did not come from a brain that was fed with protein. Fruits that he ate in the garden contained more fructose (a good kind of sugar) and only a very little amount of protein. High protein diets burden the kidneys, but diets of fruits never do. Ask your dieticians and doctors and they will agree with me. This only proves to show that the kind of knowledge we can acquire in believing in the word of God is far better than the guesses of all men combined.

The best education regarding all areas of knowledge and wisdom is available in the Bible. Psychology, science, architecture, nutrition, morals, and everything that will make a man ‘man enough’ to acknowledge his CREATOR are in the pages of the Holy Scriptures. Isaiah 34:16 has this to say:

“Seek ye out the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.”

Sincerely,

Bro. Eli Soriano

  6. "Everything that will make a man ‘man enough’ to acknowledge his Creator are in the pages of the Holy Scriptures." - BES

I completely agree! By being educated by the Bible, we will realize that a Creator exists and made us, and He knows our being and everything He created.

We even have a saying, "Madaling maging tao, pero mahirap magpakatao." The Holy Scriptures can teach us how.

  10. Indeed, the best education is available in the bible because of the following:
    1. The author of the bible is clearly the wisdom of God: Jesus Christ.

    4. The bible has the best law of life.
    5. The bible has the highest morality code.
    6. The bible has the superbly excellent literature.
    7. The contents of the bible are all true.

  14. The most widely read book in the world is the Bible, where we can find the doctrines and teachings of Jesus Christ. He told us every good thing through the writings of His apostles so that now we may learn from them. Perhaps people resort to reading the Bible in the hope they could find answers and guidance on their everyday challenges. There is no book that is more authentic as the Bible as it talks about facts in the past, about science, technology, mathematics, sociology... practically everything under the sun. Through His servant, Bro. Eli, I came to realize how the Word of GOD (which is Jesus Christ) works in the lives of many people to change them to the kind of person GOD wanted them to be. Now that we are living in a very troubled and spiritually challenged world, the more we have to turn to the Bible for us not be in innocent. For me, this is the only means to get complete education that can improve all areas of our lives... mentally, physically, socially, financially, spiritually.

A million thanks to GOD for this blog.

  15. I strongly agree with Bro Eli (Mr Controversy). In fact, if only the laws of men will be patterned with the laws of GOD in the Bible, that would be the perfect law and justice.

  18. I always look for knowledge and it seems like an addiction for me, I've read many books but I found all of those no match to what the Bible could ever teach us. I can't even measure the goodness written in this special book. To be very honest, there are books that you'll understand in one sitting but not the Bible, if the person has no grace given from above or if there is no guidance - a divine intervention, this will be the most difficult to grasp. That's why it deserves to be brand as precious more than any treasure here on earth. Its mystery will captivate you and you can't help yourself but to ask more, the word of God. Thanks be to God a million times.

  19. It was at the age of 16 when I started reading the bible as a catholic. I have always been attracted with the serendipity behind seminaries and the tranquility it seem to posses that's why priesthood was an ambition I put on top of my list. I have read the bible without really comprehending the depths of its conveyance. But I remember one time in Caloocan City some time 1987 where I saw this big billboard that teaches specifically about the bible for Php10K but I just cannot afford it and it frustrated me a lot. But after 2 decades, I found the right man in the person of Bro. ELI Soriano who has introduced to me the bible at a different level of perspective. Bro.ELI inculcated the essence of the bible's contents and elaborated the bible at its simplistic form. You can read it but not understand it. Because you need to have a holy spirit to decode it and decipher it for you. And BRO ELI was the only one that shed clarity to it all. Thanks be to GOD for that and to GOD be the GLORY.

  37. The Bible has an exact information comparing to human science; like what scientist had had in the 5 decades ago, particularly the belief about the protein was the good for the brain; recently, it's not but the sugar. Who's scientist knew it? Amazing!!! it's really believable; the bible has an advance, right, and exact information; the human science varies.
